Just a thought I'd like to share to the Physical Media Lovers out there...

What's incredibly sad to me is the loss of appreciation for the little nostalgia of owning physical copies of movies, music, books, etc. The smell of a book, a record, a new dvd! The feeling of flipping through actual pages! The click on certain dvd cases or the slide of vinyl out of its sleeve gives me that tiny extra bit of a good feeling. Humanity is losing an appreciation for our senses, due to digital convenience. Unfortunately, I won't be surprised if I get hate for this, even on a subreddit group titled

r/physicalmediamatters. If you like your digital collection so much, go find your people, but don't be hating on someone who enjoys a solid collection with soul.

Much love to the (Physical) collectors out there.

A Twilight Zone deal 👁

Went to a garage sale and found one of my most sought after treasures, The Complete Collection of the OG Twilight Zone and was brand new, sealed. A buck per disc, 28 bucks? Brand new!? I'm happy.

Which am I watching?

Every weekend my partner and I switch between each other who picks five movies. Out of the five we go back and forth canceling out one by one until we have our choice. Tonight was my turn, I was in a certain mood as you can see from my picks. Ultimately, Man On Fire won.

A New (weekend) Batch

Local thriftstore was half off everything. Dollar dvds and two for 25 cent VHS! Lots of people went through and snagged up a bunch. Fortunately, I found three solid finds. My eyes lit up for Gremlins 2 (1990) Horribly great. I've never seen The Real McCoy (1993), but anything with Val Kilmer I'm stoked for! The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984), another I have not seen, Daryl Hannah? I'm about it!

Victorian/Horror/Romanticism

Someone recently asked me if I had any recommendations for Victorian, Horror, Romanticism movies or shows. I'm not entirely sure if they meant in each category, but I went ahead and fused all three together. Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) immediately came to mind. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994). Interview With the Vampire (1994). The Bride of Frankenstein (1934). The Lighthouse (2019) doesn't fit 100% but it picks up on those vibes. I also mentioned Sleepy Hollow (1999) sadly, I don't own it.

Two classic kid shows.

Who remembers the Back to the Future animated series? Christopher Lloyd would play Doc Brown before each episode would start and Bill Nye before becoming "the Science Guy" basically played himself, but as Doc's assistant.

Batman Beyond was the greatest show on Kids WB during it's reign. Who was/is a fan?

My Lunar Shelf Collection

(New to Reddit. This is my first post) The name's Moone, and this is my 2,100+ dvd collection that I have been slowly building since my 20s titled, The Lunar Shelf Collection. I don't collect 4k. Just dvds mostly, though my Blu-ray collection is growing, as well as my VHS. I have around 46 different television shows with over 400 individual seasons. My goal is to have a 10,000 dvd collection. We need a bigger place! 😅 My journey has just begun.
