No doubt it will be appealed by EoD.

Thought this was interesting considering how much it is posted about here. Topline numbers were a drop of 9.5% for 2025 for all violent crime with a 18.1% drop in homicides.

First year we've had spice bush swallowtail.
Dennis Hancock is/was nothing but an anchor on moving St. Louis County forward in any material way. Replacing him w/ Osmack may actually see the county make some strides to improve county governance. Based on Koenig's behavior in the legislature during Covid, I'd predict him to be a worse clone of Hancock. Osmack stopped by my house and we talked a bit. He seems genuine and pragmatic which are great qualities for governance, but not always helpful to win elections.
The county board of elections publishes voter turnout through the day. Kind of interesting to see it - turnout was about 30% for the 2024 primary eleection.

I went last night to my local library - no line, no hassle. You can vote at any polling place in the county.
Not my native area, but we found a native meadow while traveling in the Swiss alps near Murren. Alpine geranium (geranium sylvaticum) and meadow buttercup (ranunculus acris) from what I could tell.
Hadn't seen this particular species before. Reading, it probably lives in one of the numerous carpenter bee holes we have in our soon-to-be removed deck.
