tudo is a local, fast (built with Rust), keyboard (or mouse) driven todo list TUI.

I'm proud of this one, and I hope you find it useful! Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions :)

  • 10 different color themes
  • Custom lists and tags
  • Subtasks and notes within tasks
  • Due dates and priorities
  • Quick task search

I'm working on this regularly, and I'd love to hear your suggestions. Thanks for taking a look!

MacZones v1.2 adds much requested features

Hi all! I've added some features requested by you to the latest version of MacZones.

-- support for macOS 27 developer beta (plans to support the full release when it happens, of course)

-- edge snapping is now live, and togglable via settings

-- quickly snap all open windows to assigned zones (works in a round-robin fashion, where windows fill all the zones clockwise)

-- added universal drag handles to quickly resize all snapped apps at once (vertically or horizontally)

-- some bug fixes with keyboard shortcuts, especially in Electron apps (cheeky electron, always making things hard)

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the latest version, and as always, please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see in the app!

I built a free & open source way to quickly add & manage todo's

Hi friends!

QuickTick lets you quickly add todos from anywhere on your Mac, without needing to switch context.

Natural language processing means you never have to use your mouse if you don't have to. "Call mom tomorrow at 12pm" would add a todo called "Call mom", with the due date of tomorrow at 12pm. Works with repeating tasks, too, e.g. "Do laundry every week".

By default, todos are stored locally. You can also turn on Apple Reminders sync if you'd prefer them on all your devices.

I've included a handful of themes by default, but you can make your own using a simple JSON file.

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for looking :)

I've been building a FOSS clipboard manager for macOS called Clipfield :)

None of the open source alternatives did the things I needed, so I built Clipfield.

It's a feature-rich, simple to use clipboard navigator that includes:

  • Pinning frequent pastes
  • Folders for organizing
  • Keyboard-first navigation
  • Optional encryption
  • Rich previews for images, videos, colors, etc
  • Paste stacks for queuing up multiple items in a row

And some more useful features. Hoping it's useful to you, and feel free to contribute / send your feedback about it!

Much appreciated.

Clipfield is a free & open source, feature-rich clipboard manager

I've been building Clipfield - a useful open source clipboard manager / navigator - and I wanted to share it with you all :)

Here's some of its features:

  • Menu-bar app that keeps a searchable history of everything you copy.
  • Global hotkey (⇧⌘V by default) opens a Spotlight-style picker over any app.
  • Pick an item → it's pasted into the app you were just using.
  • Rich types: text, styled/RTF text, images, files, links.
  • Smart auto-tagging (links, emails, phones, addresses, dates, colors, code, numbers) with type-filter chips and tag-aware search.
  • Pin frequently used items and organize them into folders.
  • Tracks how many times each item has been pasted.
  • Private by default: content marked private by password managers is ignored, you can exclude specific apps, and all history stays local.
  • Optional encryption at rest: clip and snippet contents are sealed with AES-GCM using a 256-bit key kept in the macOS Keychain.

You can find it (and its source code) here: https://github.com/jolleyDesign/clipfield/tree/main

Feel free to download, contribute, and give me feedback on how you find the app! Thanks for looking :)

Follow-up on MacZones, here's some more information - plus a 50% off code as a "thank you" :)

I made a few screens to showcase some of the features that my app MacZones has, and I hope you find it informational!

If you're interested in buying, use code REDDIT50 at checkout for half-off the lifetime license. Added this as a thank you for those who stuck with it during the rocky launch yesterday :)

Thanks for checking it out!

I built a Fancyzones alternative for Mac called MacZones! Check it out

(repost because of a typo in the previous title)

I built an app that lets you create custom zones, grids, and layouts for your application windows. You can drag to snap to 1 or more zones, use a variety of keyboard shortcuts for quicker navigation, and add things like sessions, per-app rules, and rules that trigger when a specific monitor is connected.

Fully customizable. Make it your own, work as you want to work. That's the goal of the app. You can find it here: https://maczones.app

$9.99 for a lifetime license, or a free trial for 14 days to try it out.

Let me know your thoughts! Always happy to hear feedback.

EDIT: I've updated the app to v1.0.3, which should fix the cold launch bug for fresh installs. I borrowed a second Mac for diagnostics and found the problem - thanks for the patience!!

Hi all! I have a new iPad Pro with 256GB of storage. The OS is taking 33GB, which I assume is normal; the System Storage is currently taking up more than 55GB of storage though.
I’ve tried restarting my iPad, looking at individual apps, and clearing Safari’s website data & cache, but nothing helps. And it seems to grow daily.

Is this expected for a brand new iPad? It seems a bit out of the ordinary from my experience, but it’s been a while since owning an iPad. Thanks in advance!
