Update: I Didn't Expect So Many Great Answers
I came back to read through all the replies from my last post, and honestly, there were a lot of lessons I wish someone had told me years ago.
A few comments really stood out to me:
- Start investing as early as you can. One person mentioned they're doing well now, but starting even a few years earlier would've made a huge difference because of compounding.
- Avoid debt whenever possible. Someone shared that debt can be incredibly limiting—it takes away your options and adds stress, even though they understand how expensive life has become.
- Build the habit of saving early. Another reply pointed out that saving consistently from a young age gives your money more time to grow and can create a huge head start over the years.
It's interesting how so many of these lessons sound simple, but most of us only really understand them after we've experienced them ourselves.
Now I'm curious about something a little different.
If you could go back and give your 18-year-old self just ONE financial tip, what would it be?
No long explanation needed—just that one piece of advice you think would've made the biggest difference. I'd love to keep learning from everyone's experiences.
