PS Plus subscriber since 2015-2027

I just cancelled the auto renew of my annual ps plus subscription. I will keep buying physical games to last me for years until my PS5 Pro finally breaks then I'm done with Playstation. Hopefully Nintendo doesn't follow in their footsteps because I still want to keep collecting upcoming Zelda games until i'm old.

Late to the party, pero grabe pala talaga ang Witcher 3!

https://preview.redd.it/2czpcwb2qfbh1.jpg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e26a9a96d43c19b5641d550beb88260f3558a4c

After reading the books and played Witcher 1(stopped halfway and just watched the summary xD haha) and Witcher 2, mas na-appreciate ko ung Witcher 3! Hindi lang dahil nakaka relate ako sa mga characters and the worldbuilding, iba rin tlga yung quality nung game. The jump from the previous games to this is unbelievable, parang magic haha!

Can't even fathom how this game is 11 years old (I mean granted may next gen update sya, but still). While playing it, may mga mechanics and overall atmosphere akong naaalala from other games, like Red Dead 2 and Baldur's Gate 3.

30 hours palang ako and having a blast playing it! Playing it blindly as well, para mas immersive for me. Ganda ng story telling and cutscenes!

Tapos grabe rin yung price nya sa steam ngayon, like 170 pesos lang for the base game and 420 pesos with DLCs.

We should protest our rights as gamers!

If music and movies can keep physical formats alive, VIDEO GAMES have no excuse! SCREW YOU SONY!

As a Vinyl Records, CDs, Cassette Tapes, DVDs, and VHS tapes Collector, the same thing can be said for physical video game copies rin!

If the music and movie industries can respect physical collectors, why can't gaming?

What's your gaming deep cuts?

Mine will always be Incredible Crisis. Japanese developers love minigames and this was literally Warioware on the PS.

Speaking of physical copies, I remember getting this from a bin for only 10 pesos. Sadly, my copy (although most likely pirated), has been lost.

Whats your gaming deep cut?

Sony PlayStation Admits They Lost Some of Their Loyal Fans To P.C Gaming and Wants to Win Them Back

Yeah... about that. What do they mean? By showing them the most anticonsumer moves you can possibly do within the entire gaming industry? hah! that definitely will show them crawling back to their restricted walled garden LMAO...

I think it's sensible considering the horrible decisions made by Sony recently anyways... LOL

SOURCE: Game Madness

This backlash was triggered by Sony's announcement in early July 2026 that the company will entirely phase out and cease the production of physical game discs for all new PlayStation games starting in January 2028, shifting completely to a digital-only ecosystem.

For long-time console players and physical game collectors, Sony's move toward an all-digital future is a major blow. Protesters are rallying around a few key arguments.

Many gamers argue that digital games are merely licenses that can be revoked or modified at any time, whereas a physical disc represents true, permanent ownership. Completely removing physical media destroys the ability to buy used games, sell old ones, or loan games to friends. Without physical retailers (like Best Buy, CEX, or local game shops) creating price competition, Sony will have total control over game pricing on the PlayStation Store.

Because PlayStation Plus subscriptions are one of Sony's most reliable, recurring streams of revenue, gaming community figures and social media users (most notably led by prominent accounts on X and gaming subreddits) began organizing a coordinated boycott.

Protesters are actively sharing step-by-step instructions and screenshots proving they have canceled their auto-renewals to hit Sony where it hurts financially. The goal is to show the corporation that a significant, paying portion of their player base still heavily demands physical media.

Will It Actually Work?

While the cancellation trend is gaining massive traction on social media, industry analysts remain skeptical about whether it will force Sony to reverse its 2028 plans. Sony justified its decision by pointing out that the vast majority of consumers already purchase games digitally, and the high manufacturing, shipping, and retail costs of physical discs make an all-digital landscape far more profitable for them in the long run.

Whether this movement grows large enough to show a tangible dent in Sony's upcoming quarterly financial reports remains to be seen.

MY THOUGHTS:

I'm seriously concerned sa second-hand market (e.g., Greenhills, FB Marketplace). Kung itutuloy talaga ito over the next decade, physical discs will inevitably become overpriced, rare collectibles na parang vinyl o cassettes. We'll see less and less stores selling physical games too sometime in the next decade.

Iba pa rin talaga kapag may nahahawakan kang physical medium. This also sucks for players transitioning platforms (whether from PS5 to PS6, or PS5 to PC) mapipilitan tayong mag-double-dip, so doble ang gastos.

Just because digital copies is convenient or preferred by the majority doesn't mean it's justified to phase out physical media entirely after decades of use. It’s just pure corporate greed at this point.

What do you guys think?

Looking for games - Steam

Hi! can you recommend a game like A Plague tale: Innocence and Requiem? like action-adventure, narrative-driven, cinematic kind of games sa Steam.

I’m only about halfway through Requiem, and it’s so good that I don’t want to finish it without already having my next game lined up, so I won’t feel empty after i finish it. 😭

thank you in advance !!

The hell is wrong with sony?

Wala pa ring pre-order how tf am I supposed to get the pre-order bonuses? They also blocked this game in 130 countries (PC). They did this with Helldivers 2.

Best Games on Steam Deck

hollow knight, silksong

hades, hades 2

slay the spire

cuphead

nine sols

balatro

Non-gamer clueless gf help pls

Im buying my bf the ultimate version of the gta 6 because his bday is also on november so it’s perfect.

We dont have a ps5 yet (he’s mainly a pc/switch gamers) but im gonna buy the digital only version of the console too on November.

But i wanna preorder the ultimate edition now so that he can get the preorder benefits of the game 🥺

Q: sony is asking me to login. Do i need to already create an account for him or can i just create an account using my own email & when it releases, i can just give him a download code? Yes, i know this is a dumb question and i already asked google/chatgpt but i really want to be sure since this game doesnt come cheap lol :(

What an amazing game👏👏

I don't really play this kind of games. Pero nagustuhan ko to, mainly because di sya grindy for the story. After you finish the story, dun ka nalang mag grind if you want to continue the endgame contents as well as the online mode.

As for the visuals, maganda art style. Good voice acting, very accessible combat system. For newbie like me sa ganitong genre, it's very simple but fun. Nitpick ko lang is yung side quests. Puro lang sya item requests. But the quest counter is just as fun as the main quests.

The story is also very touching. Whenever I search for anime tie-in games, usually low rated reviews ang nahahanap ko. But after finishing the story of this one, parang eto pa ata yung perfect anime game eh. The way the chapters were split, the pacing of the story is like watching a full season of an anime.

9/10

Wait It Out or Move On?

What do you think is the next best thing in my situation?

Current PS4 user who was hoping to buy a Steam Machine. We all know how ridiculous prices have become so that plan’s pretty much scrapped. But is it worth playing the waiting game for its price to drop, or should I just get a handheld?

For context, I can’t build a PC coz I haven’t got the space at home. And I’m really leaning towards something that has access to Steam, because of its vast library.

The only concern I have with handheld is the experience, since the screen will be considerably smaller than a TV. As someone whose last handheld was a PSP, are Steam decks or other similar devices worse than traditional TV gaming?

Your inputs and insights would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Thanks for all the comments! This relic wouldn’t have known that docking is not just for Switch, without your inputs. LOL! Anyway, handheld gaming might be the way to go for me with how things are going.

Pragmata done! What a beautiful journey

Good story, sad but not sad enough to make me cry, cool gameplay mechanics, and eye pleasing graphics.

I hope may part 2.

Next game to finish: AI Limit
