Hey there I am a merch manager since Feb. we just got a new am she used to be the merch before the old sm was fired. When she was the merch she worked always 40 hours with one over night a week and she only ran one shift a week and never ever closed.
Since she took over I as the merch run 3/4 shifts a week but only am scheduled 30-32 hrs a week and she will not do anything over night plus I close 1-2 days a month. She says we don’t get enough freight out but I only have 2 people to help with frieght. We do truck then they get 3 hours each on the next two days after truck. Then no more freight hours. Except me. Who is usually running shifts those days.
My sm says we need to do more that she can’t throw fright cause she has to spend 2 days a week in the office for 10 hours each day and then work a 1-1030. So she can’t do anything (it took her 3 weeks to set seasonal) she will tell me I need to take control of the backroom then when I do she says I’m doing it wrong and she just takes over.
Does she really need 20 hours a week to do paperwork? She used to say the last sm did nothing but she is doing the same calling closers in early sayings she’s there at 5 and not getting there until 630…
