Ollie on concrete

I feel very comfortable doing ollies on grass (with the tail over concrete for popping), or on rough ground. But as soon as I move to smooth ground I feel like I slip out every time. I’ve been trying to pop straight down more but I also see people pushing a little bit backwards and getting a really smooth motion. I know it’s definitely a fear and commitment thing as sometimes the board doesn’t pop because I haven’t committed to popping hard enough (this has gotten less frequent though). I feel like at the moment I jump and lift from my squat, the board moves and I’m thrown off balance. Any tips for this at all?

Ollie help

I feel like it’s more of a rocket ollie and then stamping back down, rather than floating above the board. I feel like I should try jumping higher and maybe pushing my front foot more towards the nose? I’m not sure though so any help is appreciated, thanks!

Got Noble’s Slender Sword as a noob playing my first souls game

Barely even glanced at it as it wasn’t as good as the weapon I have (by which I mean the numbers were red, because I am a noob). Wasn’t until I saw a post here that I realised it was so rare. There was a good chance I would have sold it eventually otherwise. Any chance of a list of things I Definitely Should Not Sell?

Ollie not popping

Took some videos of my ollie attempts and it was instantly clear that I’m not actually popping the board. Any tips on how to get a good pop?

Kickturn Progress

Been out skating 3 times now, about 3 hours total. Was previously practicing kickturns on flat and it’s so much easier on a ramp! Gravity really helps. These 3 are from the beginning, middle and end of the 1h session. Feeling good! Any tips?

Milestone!

I’ve been working as a Generalist (UK) since the end of April. I do around 20-25 hours a week and my current goal is $750/week. For the first month, I aimed for $500/week, although I often didn’t hit it (not through lack of projects, but lack of motivation). This past week I’ve locked in and hit my $750 goal and am on track to do so again this week. Very grateful for DA as a student hoping to move out.

Is anyone seeing any fruit or greek projects today?

These are the projects I usually love the most but I’m only getting a certain nut project show up over and over as I assume everyone (like me) takes one look and exits work mode. Just wondering if I’m dropped from my favourite projects or if they’re not around today

Do you prefer long or short tasks?

I love when I get a task with a 3+ hour timer. I find the time goes much quicker for me if I’m working on the same task rather than multiple short ones. I worked for 5-6 hours today and completed two tasks. Do you guys prefer short or long tasks?

P.S. I love rubrics

Just got my first feedback

I’ve been on the platform for about 2 weeks (core and coding, UK). I definitely thought I was producing quality work as I always try to be thorough and consistent, but wasn’t totally sure how I was doing since I’m new.

I got my first feedback today and got an outstanding rating! This really took a weight off of my shoulders as I know there’s always a chance of being canned if you’re not up to scratch.

‘Your work across multiple project families has been consistently outstanding, demonstrating a strong ability to evaluate model responses accurately, provide well-reasoned justifications, and identify both major and minor issues with precision. Reviewers have repeatedly highlighted the thoroughness and clarity of your explanations, with one noting that your submission was "one of the best submissions" they had seen. Overall, you are performing at a very high level, and your attention to detail and depth of analysis are clear strengths.’

Wow. I’m so grateful for this work that fits my lifestyle and I’m glad I can do something that I’m good at.

Please do share your feedback below if you so choose!
