Wondering if my progress for 3-4 months is any good

All criticism and opinions are welcome

I skateboard every weekend for 3-4 hours and sometimes during the week.

Also the Ollie videos and kickflip videos are a little outdated, my Ollies and kickflips are a lot better now and I will post an updated version of my tricks soon

I don’t have recordings of me doing every trick that I’ve said I can do on this post but I will send out a post with all the videos of them on there

Tricks I can do:

I can Ollie while moving and over wooden planks, bricks and cement blocks and down a stair set of 3

I can pop shuv it, fakie pop shuv it+fakie shuvit and shuvit

I can kickflip the in the videos I don’t land them

I can fakie Ollie while moving

The 360 pop shuvit is my dream trick (so is the big spin) and its only taken me 30 minutes over two days to get the scoop almost correct

I can do a whole bunch of ramp stuff

I can kinda frontside 180 I have trouble getting my body fully rotated after the pop

I can 50-50 grind a small railing of the grounding

It does sometimes take me a few tries to land a trick

but over time that won’t be true and I’ll be able to do them whenever and at whatever speed I’m minimal or no attempts

Obviously my style will develop over time and will my skills I just wanted some other people’s opinions on my progress, I will start posting regularly my progress from now on, I do wanna become pro one day

-thanks

Im 42 and havent really skated since i was 15. Now my young kids 6 & 4 are showing interest so im going to get into crusing around with them. Looking for advice on getting started again and hardware. i did read some older posts on here but hoped to hear something about this LB i just scooped.

Im picking up these two boards cheap on fb and can replace parts if needed. Any advice on being an old dude relearning to skate and what I should look at on the boards I just scooped up so I know if I need to replace anything asap?

Skateboard Wheels

Hey all I am getting back into skateboarding, i took the last 3 or 4 years off. Even then I wasn’t very good and was just starting. I don’t have the smoothest of sidewalks and roads and I am not quite ready for the skatepark. My main thing right now is i want to feel comfortable and confident just cruising and riding a skateboard. I am in between wheels and need help deciding… Ricta clouds or Bones Rough Riders. I want to be able to ride on rougher pavement/concrete and not crash over cracks, pebbles and rougher areas. I will start to occasionally learn some basic tricks once i’m comfortable on the board like i did last time so I don’t want just a strictly a super soft long board like wheel. I also would prefer to stay away from riser pads because I would just prefer to.

Layback board slide

I've been trying these at the end of my last few sessions, and today I finally said, "Fuck it," and fully committed. Picked up a couple of bumps and bruises, but damn, it felt good to finally roll away. 🤘🤘🤘

Got my first shaped deck 🤘🏽

I’ve been skating for almost a year now and I wanted to try out a shaped deck and went with this. It’s pretty smooth to ride.

Ollie

Should I move on to rolling ollies or should I fix my standing ollies first and also any tips on how to start learning rolling ollies will be helpful. Since when I tried rolling ollies I keep a line as a target and my back wheels always land behind the line and also many times I can’t Ollie properly at all

How can i level out my Ollies ?

Hello everybody,

Im quite new to skating, like skated for a few months consistently now.

The problem i think im facing is that i cannot get my back trucks in the air so my skateboard is levelled with the ground.

i tried to think about putting my front foot up ane over the nose but i just cant seem to figure out why it doesnt level even tho i tried really hard.

sliding the front foot up doesnt seem intuitive to me and often leads to getting ghost pop or no pop at all.

I would be very thankful for all tips and tricks you can offer me to maybe get my ollies up. Thanks everyone!

Bearing spacers

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I needed or why I would need bearing spacers if I have bones red bearings. I am a very heavy guy and I'm not sure if bearing spacers are good. I have some but they make the bearings not sit flush with my wheels. So I'm wondering do I need them?
