[Update] I sewed a Night Before Christmas book! Any recs for other Christmas sewing projects?
I found another Christmas soft book panel and decided to make my kids and my husband and myself stockings. I’ve finished my daughter’s stocking and absolutely love it. The front is quilted with gold thread and the back and inside are a snowman print from Joann’s that I inherited from my late mother - I try to use one of her fabrics in every quilt I make. I’d never worked with piping before and love the result even if it was a pain. The extra touch of gold to go with the quilting and her embroidered name is magical. I also used some decorative stitching in matching thread on the binding around the top for fun. I tried to make it very sturdy so it’ll last her a lifetime. She was also very excited for a second book and was sad I put it away. She’ll be 3 at Christmas so it’ll be super fun to pull the books out in November.
