Best price stores/nurseries for medium/large plants?

Share your secrets! Kita-ku is best but for big nice plants I can take a car to get them.

I’m used to nurseries back home where people just give away their plants, but not sure how common is it here

Any intensive JP language courses during summer?

I'm a resident here in Kyoto and as an academic have long holidays now.. My JP is beginner (can read hiragana katakana etc) and want to speed up and sign for a language course (not much of a cultural immersion, as I live here and work in a field..) but more focusing on language. Any leads in Kansai area?

Intensive JP language course during summer?

Hi everyone! I'm working here in Japan and have summer holidays as most of academics and planning on staying in Kyoto.. Is there a chance to have language course here? I'm very much a beginner can read hiragana/katakana and have basic conversation, but would love to spend my time really advancing the language..

I see most of the courses are not available during summer or are more oriented towards youth (cultural experiences etc...)

Setup for home concerts jazz vocal+piano?

I’m planning on hosting little cozy concerts at my home in Japan (so would be great if it’s available here). I’m a jazz singer and my living is about 15sq m with big windows around and acoustics are not the best.
What setup piano+mic+speaker+mixing you think would work the best?

Thank you!!
Edit: electronic piano!

Any academics in Japan?

I’m a European who came to Japan to do my PhD, I am also in my early 40s and changing my career paths. I do speak Japanese and research JP culture but started to think what’s going to be after I’m done and what are the opportunities for me?

I’d love to hear your career paths, especially the ones who came to both academia and Japan a little later in life.

Rollerblading in Kyoto?

Hi, everyone!

I just moved to Kyoto and I’m an amateur rollerblader and used it to do it every week back at home. Where is it possible here? Do people even do it here?

I have my own pair!

Japanese living room+dining

Hi, I just moved to Japan and here is my living+dining. In the middle it will be island sofa (sofa with no backrest) but the whole design seems too boring for me and I'd like to add a bit of funkiness to it/colors but still keep classy. Any ideas? Rug/lamps/tv stand?

behind this there is a tatami room.
