BenQ AH700ST mounting help!

BenQ AH700ST mounting help!

Any idea what the below image is telling me as far as mounting height? I’m adding a screen to my net return net and it’s 7x7ft or 114” diagonal. I set the calculator to 1:1 ratio and locked it in at 114” diagonal. If I have 10 ft ceilings is this telling me the project needs to sit 3ft off the ceiling (7ft in the air)? That seems really low.

Square and Awesome Golf: Gaming PC or No?

I’m waiting patiently like a lot of others for my square Omni. I’m also thinking of adding the BenQ AH500 projector and the net return home series impact screen for my net. Looks like I’ll have a 1:1 aspect ratio. I’m also looking into the awesome golf lifetime license.

Question: can I run all this with my MacBook Pro or iPad? Does it make sense to add a decent gaming PC right now?

The Net Return Impact Screen

Got to love the wives out there! My wife wasn’t sold on me putting a simulator in the garage until we finished most of it and the first thing she says: “why did you do a net instead of hitting screen and projector!”. Um maybe because I was trying not to piss you off!

Anyways to the point of this post. Is this screen worth it for the home series net return net? Also, any recommendations on a projector to use with my iPad and the square Omni software? I’m not sure where I’d mount the projector the screen would only be 7x7. I’m afraid if I hung it over my head I’d hit the thing with my clubs.

Gaming PC or Not

Any tech guys out there that can help with my question. The question is when is a gaming pc needed? For example, I’m starting out with the Square Omni connected to my iPad and then to a flatscreen tv on the wall. If I ever upgrade from a hitting net to a hitting screen and projector will it still work or will I need a gaming pc? When does the gaming pc come into play?

Cutting turf and EVA foam

You guys out there making your own hitting mats and putting mats what have you found to be the best way to precisely cut through thick turf and other materials such as EVA gym mat foam? Seems like Google says a utility knife and big T-square for a strait edge and make shallow straight cuts over and over.

Any other hacks? I have a dremal, sawzall, circular saw, and oscillating multi tool saw.

Garage hitting mat with putting strip build???

Has anyone built a garage hitting mat with putting strip that can be moved. I’d love to build something with cheaper turf, foam insulation, rubber mat and put an sig pro hitting strip in it but I need to be able to lean it against the wall. Anyone got any good build pictures?

PlayBetter Square Omni Sim Package

I ordered the wrong size Sim package from PlayBetter ,cancelled the order, and reordered the correct one. I called to make sure everything went through correctly and it did. The guy said there’s a decent wait for the square Omni which I’m fine with but he said there’s packages should all ship once the Omni is in. No worries with that either. However, today I received an email that the net and mat is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Does anyone know if that’s normal? I’m fine with it but was just wondering since he said the Omni may not get to me until late July/August.

Wood platform movable mat

Has anyone on this sub built a wooden frame around there hitting mat/putting green so it’s movable and can lean against a wall? I’ve seen some made using foam insulation, EVA foam, and turf. Just wondering if that’ll stay in the wooden frame when leaned against the wall or if folks are gluing the insulation, foam, and turf together. Basically how are you getting the hitting service materials to stay in the wooden frame.

Launch monitor with iPad & tv

For those of you using your launch monitor with an iPad hooked to a tv mounted on the wall. Anything I should know about or think through? I have an extra tv in my basement to mount on the wall and I have a new iPad mini. Would a usb-c to hdmi connector be the only thing I need? I may get the connector that allows me to charge the iPad while also providing the hdmi plug for the tv. Anything else I should be aware of before going this route?

Garage simulator heavy hitting mat.

For you guys out there with the garage simulators that need to park the car. How are you moving your high end hitting mats? I was looking at some hitting mats that appear to weigh well over 100 lbs (ex The Net Return Platinum turf). Are you lifting them into the ceiling?
