Updating Build - Help/Feedback/Suggestions?

I'm a little over a year into my build that I got from the TPS. I purchased the Split King kit and added a Talalay Latex topper from SleepEZ.

Setup:

  • 15" Organic Cotton Cover
  • 2" Talalay Topper - Medium
  • 3" QuadMini - 15.5g
  • 8" Quad Coils - 15.5g

Base Support

  • Bunkie Board
  • 15 Oak Slats with center support (.75" x 2.5") spaced 2.5" apart.

Me (M): 33, 5'9", ~210lbs, Side and Back sleeper now (prior to building mattress, I was a stomach sleeper all of my life)

Wife (F): 30, 5'6", ~160lbs, Side Sleeper

Context: I purchased the kit with the intention to include foam layers to make it a 15" bed. When I set the mattress up, it was so comfortable with just the coils and latex compared to the Serta slop (hindsight) that we came from, I decided not to add the foam.

Now fast forward a year later and we're dealing with coil lean and some shifted/bulging coils. I've since readjusted everything prior to this post but hindsight is that I obviously left too much slack in the mattress (15" cover with 13" layers) so I'm planning to tighten it up with a cover but now i'm thinking, what if i modify it a bit more. Is there more comfort to gain? Or should I leave well enough alone? I know comfort is pretty subjective but curious on opinions. Options below:

Option 1:

Keep Current Build and move down to a 13in cover. Looking at

  • TPS Premium Mattress Cover?
  • APM Bamboo Wool Cover?
  • FloBeds says theirs only fits 12in Mattress

Option 2:

Modify a bit

Tips on Diagnosing Print Problems

Hi All,

Like many, I'm completely new to the ecosystem. Surface level knowledge so far and no modeling experience (yet). Mechanically and technically inclined by nature so I'm learning fast but its a vast ecosystem, so just looking for some general pointers that may cut out some headaches no matter what printer you're on, filament you're running, etc..

I purchased an H2C and have done a few small prints from community models. For the most part its been problem free. As I type this, I'm printing some Dry Pods for my AMS 2, using PETG+ and I had to pause to clean the right extruder hot end due to clumping and have also noticed that the caps to the pods quality is a little off so I have skipped those for now. The pods themselves are printing fine at the moment.

I'm using Inland filament at the moment as I purchased my printer at the local Microcenter here in Houston and being that its their brand, that's what they have stocked. Do plan on trying other filaments out such as Polymaker, Atomic for premium stuff and Overture, SunLu for more everyday stuff.

So with that context, I just want to know your process of identifying what the problem is from most likely to least likely but possible. I've only had the printer a week so haven't learned about tuning all the settings I just print whats on the profile for the H2C. I know a lot of it will probably be trial and error and just learning your printer. I guess my the things that are crossing my mind are:

  • Diagnosing whether its bad filament
  • Bad setup (profile settings)
  • Bad Nozzle
  • Filament too Wet
  • etc

Definitely did not intend for this post to be this long but thanks for any tips/feedback provided!
