First, off, I'm not seeking referral money. I've worked at Mercor, just celebrated my two year anniversay there. See my linked in page for that. My name is Rhonda Cawthorn.

If you ever get an email that says "Mercor is interested in you" or "Your next steps at Mercor" you take them.

Mercor has kept me employed for two years. And to understand the magnitude of what they have done for me and what they do for everyone is to get a little context of how cool this is.

The day I got the email saying “Next steps on your Creative Writing AI Analyst Position at Mercor, I was still skeptical, and mentally sick and too depressed to go get help or to even be able to discern whether this was DIVINE intervention or dreck.

And I almost missed the most joyous job of my life.

Thank God I didn’t.

The other thing is they embrace older workers with a empathy I have never received at an AI company. They realize everyone’ s native language is not necessarily English and they EMBRACE multiculturalism so much.

You get a big, meaty, weekly paycheck and even if you could only work 20 hours, 5 hours, 10 hours, it’s still ENOUGH AND MORE to keep you thriving, keep you in your place, keep you well fed, keep you emotionally unstressed enough to LOVE life.

But something told me … just try. I heard my mother’s voice going, “Just try, Rhonda. Don’t die … just try.”

1. I got myself to a doctor, hesitantly. I was like yeah, whatever, you never get me…. But HE DID. He was in recovery too.

2. I dragged myself to pick up my prescriptions, telling Mercor please be patient, I had the flu, literally buying time till my psyche meds could at least be IN MY BODY, giving me HOPE.

3. And I fainted on Meijer’s marble counter and KNOCKED OUT ALL MY BRAND-NEW DENTURES after 2 and a half years sober and finally getting some "teef," which was all I could say ... toothless.

Now, mind you, toothless, banged, bloodied, and with a head injury, these BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE moved me from one workflow to another, enough to keep me and my pups fed while I slowly came back to life.

They let me only work 5 hours if I could and I gave them the best five hours I could until my back would give out, or my mind, because I had quite a head injury.

They are the most honest, ethical, highest paying company that I have ever been privileged to work for.

Also, no other AI company recognizes that people are always growing and changing and, therefore, they continuously give you the opportunity to take another stab at an interview – 3 tries at all assessments, endless tries at interviews--- and even if you f#%# those up—in six or sometimes 3 months those ASSESSMENTS completely RESET – because they know s%# happens and people GET BETTER … PEOPLE grow.
