Sugr Hash- buyer beware of empty jars

Copped a sugr hash rosin jar last night from my lcs, all seals in tact, came home and cracked it open to find a totally empty jar. Thankfully I’m a regular at Holland Daze in Brampton and they’re a stand up company and refunded me for a problem that wasn’t even theirs to begin with. I guess high quality product doesn’t translate to high quality customer service. Buyer beware you might be spending upwards of $100 per gram for a fancy sticker wrapped jar.

Hi all… long time lurker first time poster,

We’ve recently discovered someone has “stolen” my elderly mother’s identity and called into her one of her Mastercards and had themselves sent a new card under a fake name. Initially she thought this was only from dec 2025, until I pulled a csv file of all her statements and found out this stems back to 2024, totalling just over $35k in total.

I’ve done my digging and have found most people saying once the police report is filed and bureaus are notified, the CC removes the fraudulent transactions which is fine. A new issue is at one point her credit limit was $25,000 and was constantly being maxed by what she thought was her poor spending habits, turns out it was the fraudster. At that time she was working full time and paying lump sums of 5-10k off on the card only to have the balance maxed out again a few months later.

She then decided to move money out of her rrsp to pay out the 25k in full, and reduced her credit limit to 15k to help with her “bad habits”… turns out the bad habit was her not checking her bills. Last night she asked me to help understand why her card was maxed again at $15k when I noticed the transactions were under a fake name and a card number that is not hers.

We phoned the CC and they said “my mother” back in 2024 called in, added “a family member” on the card, and changed her address. That card number they added is the one with all the fraudulent transactions. This was not her. The fraudster then changed the address on file multiple times and made monthly $25 payments. I’m assuming to not raise any red flags.

Question is- how likely is that initial $25k from 2024-2025 is going to be reimbursed? My gut says it’s not going to be.

We’ve already had the talks about financial responsibility when it comes to online banking and also she is now willing to let me review her monthly statements to make sure everything checks out. I’ve set up notifications on her phone where possible. I honestly feel partially responsible for being the most “tech-savvy” child and letting this go for so long…..
