I Forgot How Much I Love These Movies

I rewatched Into The Spider-Verse and FINALLY watched Across the Spider-Verse and man do I adore these movies.

One thing I really like is OG Peter's/Miles' Doc Oc Olivia "Liv" Octavious I don't know if it was the fact its the first female Doc Oc I've seen or if its the way her additional arms function with compressing air and stuff but she always seemed like 5x cooler than the average Doc Oc.

That's all, just really an appreciation post

A Sombra Rework(I KNOW I'M SORRY BUT READ THE POST)

OPINION BASED REWORK INCOMING

So I've been racking my brain on how I would rework Sombra to keep as much of her identity as possible while also not keeping or reimplimenting problematic abilities.

Problematic abilities include things like infinite stealth, infinite translocator, hacking boosts dmg on a target, among other things.

Things I think the Overwatch team will absolutely keep no matter what are: a form of ability lockout, a virus, and a translator. Many people have responded positively to the virus, and I myself am rather just meh with it, so idc if it stays or goes.

My rework starts off with her ultimate. I want Sombra's ultimate to remain the same with only minor changes if needed.

Next is the first ability we're completely reworking, Hack. Hack will remain part of Sombra's kit. However, it'll lose its ability lockout and enemy targeting capabilities. To replace the functions that it lost, Hack will now affect the environment more, causing world objects such as jump pads and elevators to only work for her allies for a brief duration. Hack will also have special interactions with the train in Neon Junction. Sombra will be able to hack the tracks of the train when the lights glow red, causing the train to stop and block the high ground and flank routes offered by its absence.

After Hack, we have Virus. Virus will do less to no damage to an enemy hit, but now will affect their different health types. Shield health will have its passive regeneration timer paused or completely reset, Armor will have its damage reduction removed, and Overwatch will start decaying/decaying faster. If we wanted we could add these Virus additions to EMP allowing her ultimate to serve as a sort of counter ultimate to something like Lucio's though this is just a thought and is more than likely unnecessary. Virus would gain some other capabilities though I'm still workshopping those and saving one for Stealth.

Translocator would get reverted to its placeable version, specifically the one with a timer function before its destroyed. I was think about 12-15s or so, while also letting it keep some of its current throw speed so engages with it isn't out of the question.

Sombra's Stealth would be separate from Translocator and reworked. Stealth is renamed to Bandwidth Acceleration and it retains its increased speed alongside quieter or silent footsteps. It would be on the Interact button for activation and other abilities like Jetpack Cat's Lifeline or Symmetra's Teleporter would take priority over it as most if not every time you'd use it neither of these abilities would be in play. Virus and Bandwidth Acceleration have a unique interaction, when an enemy afflicted with Sombra's Virus looks at her during Bandwidth Acceleration their visual of her become distorted making it more difficult to pin point her.

Her primary fire could remain mostly the same, maybe with a slight spread decrease, that's about it.

Her passive opportunist could allow her to see when an enemy ultimate is ready as it currently does as well as allowing anyone affected by EMP's hack or her Virus to be seen by sombra through walls for the duration of either abilities' effects. This lets Sombra retake her place as information gatherer and gain the upper hand over other now recon heroes like she used to.

This idea is still a heavy work in progress, but I think some of it is interesting at the very least and I think deserves a thought and maybe a try in some sort of gamemode.

Speaking of that I'd also like a gamemode where the devs are just straight up about the changes being potential future reworks or balancing updates. Similar to the old experimental patches but just make then like quick-play hacks, yknow if it doesn't work out like Experimental did then oh well, but just a random thought.

I Think After D.mon Overwatch Should Try and Expand the World

What I mean is at this point we've got 52 heroes, 35~ maps(ngl idk off the top of my head)

However the maps are mostly North America, Europe, and Asia. I think we could use a couple more South American maps outside of Brazil and Peru. Then some more African maps to get a sense of the rest of Africa not just Numbani and Egypt.

Heroes wise I think it'd be smart of them to, as soon as possible, focus on giving us more heroes from those same places and maybe cover the other bits of the world they haven't like Iceland and Greenland, the other bits of Europe still untouched, maybe even under sea stations or whatever they have going on down there.

Currently we have 5 American heroes, 5 Japanese heroes, and 3 Chinese heroes, with most other heroes only sharing a general area like 2 for Africa or a bunch for Europe(i can't count rn) but most of them aren't shared countries.

Personally I think it'd be nice to try and slot in these different countries sometime soon though I also understanding that since their development time has been going faster per hero it might be a few heroes before the under represented or unrepresented areas get one.

Idk I kinda wanted to yap with this post since while I usually don't care about this stuff it is nice to see some bits and pieces of other cultures from my favorite game.

EDIT: I do not want representation just for the sake of it, I do want it to be connected and written realistically, so please let this cease that confusion now.

Jubilee Noobie Here

What I mean is I don't know much about her, but her style, the body language I've seen in the comic panels I have seen, and her powers have had me interested for a while.

I am really hoping Jubilee is a couple of things:

  1. A Strategist

  2. Not like rocket or Jeff

I want Jubilee to be a fun and different Strategist without being sort of reduced to more heal focused because to this day I am still quite upset at Rocket and Jeff's ults being worked into more heal and sustain oriented rather than keeping their damage focused nature.

Sooo, hopefully I'll enjoy her so what're some fun Jubilee facts you all have to share?

Who from Overwatch Lore would you want to join Overwatch next year?

I say this because I can't really think of many people from the lore I could see actually making it into the game.

We have Emre, Anran, and D.mon joining from lore before this year then Shion joining from Mizuki's lore this year.

The only others I can see having a reasonable shot given these example are the other meka squad like King, Casino, and Overlord. The Yokai with the tanuki guy or the omnic girl with the umbrella, not the oni guy cuz he's boring or the bird girl with fans cuz anran. The Phreaks maybe with Touch-Up. Then maybe, MAYBE someone like Kace.

Other than that though I see characters like Emily, Iggy, Maximillien, and the like are definitely remaining lore characters in my head.

So I figured I'd turn to the internet to see who you guys can come up with, ideally with a general idea of how they'd play or some gimmick they'd have.
