Question on What This Is

Aloha everyone, I was wondering what this is. I am a student at UH Manoa and as I was walking up the stairs by the zone 20 parking structure, near the Stan Sheriff Center. (can see it if looking through the glass part at the top of the staircase) I saw this black thing hanging from a plant. I was wondering if you guys think it is more of a leaf or animal? sorry for the terrible quality, any help would be appreciated. I don’t think it is a bat as I heard that the Hawaiian Bat is really good at hiding so it wouldn’t make sense for it to be out in the open like this

Afraid for loved ones

Hi everyone. The possible exposure of rabies was on Oahu Hawaii, 8/1/26. Me and my gf were going to get lunch in Kaimuki when there was a Great Dane on a leash with its owner. The owner was eating lunch with someone and the dog was laying there. There was a bunch of wet spots near the dog, possibly drool. As we were walking by the dog kinda leaned in towards my gf and got kinda close. I do not know if it touched her or not but it did not bite the her. I guess I am afraid there could be a exposure. I am from Hawaii and I am afraid this dog could’ve came from the mainland. Any advice would be appreciated. I am asking her if it did touch her but she isn’t answering
