I'm 39, 6'4", based in Waterford, and apparently at the age where I'm supposed to have my life completely figured out. Thankfully, I've decided to ignore that particular expectation. 😂

I'm currently working towards building a career and my own business, while also trying to keep improving myself and getting healthier. So life is definitely moving forward, but I'd quite like someone to share the journey with.

Outside of work/studying, I'm a bit of a diverse bag.

I love getting out into nature and going for walks with my dogs. I will also absolutely stop whatever I'm doing to pet a dog. This is not negotiable.

Other days I'll happily stay home and cook something nice, go to the cinema, meet friends for a coffee, or spend an unreasonable amount of time reading a good book.

I'm also a big music person. I'm into goth, rock, emo and metal, but I listen to pretty much anything depending on my mood — including 80s music and jazz. I love going to gigs, discovering new bands, and generally listening to music more than I watch TV. I'm seeing Korn in Dublin next month, which I'm excited about.

I'm into geeky stuff too — books, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, graphic novels, anime and movies. I actually help organize a Horror, Sci-Fi & Fantasy group in Waterford, so if your idea of a good evening involves discussing something weird you've watched or read recently, we'll probably get along.

That said, you absolutely do not need to share all my interests. I'm perfectly happy discovering someone else's world too.

Style-wise, I'd probably describe myself as grown-up alternative. I like dressing well — blazers, button-down shirts, smart boots (depending on the occasion 😂), and darker colours — but it's really just another part of who I am, not something you need to be into.

Personality-wise, I'm a little shy at first, but once I'm comfortable I'm affectionate, playful and probably make far too many bad jokes. My sense of humor is mostly puns, movie quotes, and memes, so apologies in advance.

I'm also a bit of an overthinker and can be easily distracted, but apparently I'm a decent person to have around. A female friend once described me as kind, respectful, and thoughtful — the sort of person who'll hold the door open for you, try to cheer you up on a bad day even when I'm having a bad day myself, and generally make sure you're okay.

When I really like someone, I'm very much an “effort” person. I remember the little things, check in, cook for you, plan dates, give lots of hugs and cuddles, and generally try to make the other person feel cared for. I'm a good listener, and I'm happy to sit in a café for two hours just talking.

What I'm looking for is someone warm, kind, funny, confident, and maybe a little weird — in a good way.

Someone who's affectionate, emotionally open, and passionate about the things they care about. Someone independent who still wants to build something together. Someone who enjoys going out and doing things but is equally happy having a quiet night in.

I don't need us to have identical interests. I'd much rather be with someone who can introduce me to something I know nothing about and get excited telling me why they love it.

For me, the important stuff is being able to communicate openly, be ourselves around each other, support each other through the good and bad days, and make the ordinary moments enjoyable.

I'd love to travel more too. Edinburgh and Salem are currently sitting on my bucket list, and I'd love to have someone beside me for adventures like that.

And obviously, the goal is to build a long-lasting, committed relationship. Preferably with someone who is willing to get unnecessarily scared watching horror films with me. 😂

I'm child-free and don't want children, so that's an important compatibility thing to get out of the way.

For a first date, I'm not looking for anything elaborate. Give me a coffee, a walk, and a good conversation. If there's a spark, great. If not, at least we hopefully had a nice coffee. An art gallery, museum, or heritage site would also be right up my street.

Ultimately, I'm looking for someone who makes the small moments fun and memorable.
