Moving near Prospect Park, Reading

Hey all, I'm relocating to Reading next month for work and about to sign for a place literally a 2 mins walk from Prospect Park. Before I commit, wanted to get a read from people who actually live there.

How's the area generally in terms of safety — day and night? Anything I should know about specific streets or times to avoid?

Also curious how it compares to nearby areas like Tilehurst if anyone's lived there.

Any input appreciated, thanks!

Moving to Reading soon — any flatshare advice?

Hi all,

I'm relocating to the Reading area soon (looking at Tilehurst, Theale, and Newbury) and wanted to introduce myself and pick the community's brain.

I'm exploring flatshare options and have come across a few providers so far: Snug Shared Living (Lauren), Brett Properties, and RHouse. Has anyone here used any of these and can share their experience — good or bad?

I'm mainly searching on SpareRoom.co.uk, also open to any other letting agents or platforms you'd recommend for finding a decent flatshare in the area. Any tips on areas to avoid or hidden gems would be much appreciated too!

Moving to Reading

Hey all,

Relocating to the Reading area for work and looking for a room in a flat/house share. Budget is around £650-750pcm, ideally bills included or close to it.

Open to Tilehurst, Theale, Newbury, or anywhere near decent commuter links into central Reading. Mid-late 20s, tidy, easygoing, working full time so mostly around evenings/weekends.
