Got a violation notice for something that happened 1,545 days ago — has this happened to anyone else?

Yesterday (19 May 2026) I received an official Discord notice saying my server broke Discord's rules for age-inappropriate content.

The weird part? The violation references content from **1,545 days ago** (roughly early 2022). I was never warned or notified at the time, and only received this notice now in 2026 — over 4 years later.

As a result my server received:

- Limited access to invites until 2 Jun 2026

- Limited access to uploading attachments until 21 May 2026

When I checked my Account Standing, it shows **0 active violations** and the violations are listed as already **expired** — yet the server restrictions are still active.

I've already:

- Submitted an in-app appeal via User Settings > Standing

- Sent a support ticket explaining the situation

- It's been 24hrs with no response from Discord

My main questions:

  1. Has anyone else received retroactive violation notices for old content like this?

  2. Why would Discord take action years after the fact with no prior warning?

  3. Is 24hrs too early to expect a response from Discord support?
