Morley Leasure Centre Gym equipment
Hi, I'm planning to get back into the gym. I used to go to JD Gyms Leeds South, but now that I live in Morley, I'm considering Morley Leisure Centre since it has a swimming pool. My main priority is good weights and equipment. If Morley Leisure Centre has a solid enough setup compared to JD Gyms South, I'd prefer to go there for the pool. Has anyone been to both and can share their thoughts?

A right good celebration: Yorkshire Day at White Rose
White Rose Shopping Centre is marking Yorkshire Day, Saturday 1 August 2026, with free in-centre events to celebrate the best that our glorious region has to offer.
Renowned musicians Back Chat Brass will be performing at the centre throughout the day, with 20-minute sets taking place at intervals between 10am and 2pm. The band’s dynamic and unique twist on the traditional ensemble is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, with a repertoire including everything from chart-toppers to classic funk with a brass twist.
While enjoying Back Chat Brass’ energetic stylings, guests can browse the Yorkshire Market in The Village at White Rose, brought to the centre by RSH Artisan Markets. With a variety of locally-made creations and independent traders, the Yorkshire Market – which takes place during the first weekend of each month – is the perfect place to pick up unique crafts, foodie snacks, and thoughtful gifts.

The Odyssey at White Rose IMAX?
Anybody who has seen it, how was it? Is the white rose IMAX any good, I've read it's 2K xenon projection which is tech from 2008. The York one has dual 4K laser projection.
I booked it mistakenly thinking it was the same as York due to the AI overview making a mistake and Cineworld have a no refund policy and zero customer service.
But it is what it is and hopefully it will be great!
Where are the best places for charity shops in Leeds?
people of leeds, which are the best areas for charity shopping? i'm looking for a street or a couple of streets with plenty of charity shops and ideally a couple of nice places to eat and drink as well

yorkshireeveningpost.co.ukr/Morley - a new community hub for Morley and the surrounding area
Hey r/Leeds,
There's now a new sub for anyone in or near Morley: r/Morley.
It's a place for local news, recommendations, questions, events, lost pets, planning gripes, the usual small-town stuff that doesn't always fit on a Leeds-wide sub - whether you're in Morley itself, Churwell, Gildersome, Tingley, East/West Ardsley, or anywhere else in LS27.
What's there so far:
- Rules and post flairs (Discussion, Local News, Question/Help, Recommendation, Local Event, For Sale, Free, Lost & Found, Council/Local Issues)
- A wiki with local resources - bin collection lookup, council links (LCC and the separate Morley Town Council), GP/NHS info, transport - plus an FAQ
- Active moderation, so it stays useful rather than turning into spam
It's brand new and growing, so if you're local, come help build it out - ask a question, recommend a place, post about something happening nearby. The more people get involved early, the more useful it'll be for everyone in LS27.

My plans for this subreddit:
I am a local resident of Morley, Leeds, and I want to revive this community hub so residents have an active, properly managed space for local news, events, and discussions.
The subreddit is currently restricted and has been completely dormant for its entire one-year lifespan.
I plan to completely overhaul the subreddit by establishing a clear backend architecture (custom AutoModerator filtering, spam control), creating a dedicated content and asset design (updated CSS, mobile/desktop banners, rules formatting), and introducing structured community governance like post/user flairs and a local resource wiki. I already have the technical background to consistently maintain the daily queue and actively drive engagement so the space doesn't slip back into a ghost town.
