NBD!! Transition Sentinel Alloy in Desert Dusk

Just graduated from my masters and thought I'd treat myself to a new bike after 5 years of hard work and replacing my 8 year old enduro bike.

NBD!! Sentinel alloy in Desert Dusk 😎🤟

Just graduated from my masters and thought I'd treat myself to a new bike after 8 years riding my old enduro bike.

Been out on a quick inaugural ride and sheeeesh there's a lot to love: she climbs sm better than my previous bike, and descends amazingly. Cannot wait to take her to some proper big trails. Big smiles had all round!!

Absolutely loving the paint job as well you can see in some pics the seemingly grey paint shimmers with gold in the right light it is just 🤌🤌

Two orbs spotted above Helensburgh, Scotland 20:51 14/06/2026

Time 20:51 14/06/2026

Location: Helensburgh, United Kingdom

Was at a pub in Helensburgh, Scotland where I noticed initially three glistening lights in the cloud. I got my mates to have a look and all of them saw them. I started recording for a bit and could only see two orbs at that point.

You can see they are reflective of the light to the right of the clouds where the sun was and when in the shade they were black. The video shows some sort of possible melting/drooping mass of them similar to what has been seen before from orb UAP but could be a camera artefact.

The interesting implication here is Helensburgh lies not far from Faslane Nuclear Submarine Base and Coulport where the UK’s nuclear arsenal are kept.

Also hope you enjoy the commentary from my pals as we watch them lol

I’m considering replacing my 2018 Norco Range with a Spectral AL 6, but I’m not sure whether it would feel like a genuine upgrade or more of a side-grade.

The Norco has been a good bike but after 8 years I’m thinking for a new bike and don’t really need the full 160 mm travel and burly weight of like 16 kg. Most of my riding is natural rough trails, long rides / XC-style riding and occasional bigger mountain days (scottish munro).

Looking into the spectral but I’m unsure how noticeable the upgrade would actually feel coming from the Range. Spec-wise they seem fairly similar in some areas (SLX drivetrain, Yari-level fork vs Fox 36 etc.), although obviously the geometry is a bit more modern. I'm also looking into a Transition Sentinel too, similar but better specced but also £2500 more lol.

if I get the new bike I will be going from 27.5 to 29er and wondering how big a difference that makes.

And for sizing I'm 5ft 11" (180 cm), my current bike is size large with 459 mm reach which fits me well. The medium spectral has 475 mm reach while size large has 500 mm reach which seems huge to me.

Reviews seem to suggest the Spectral runs large, so I’m leaning toward Medium.

Finally, I’m planning to go alloy rather than carbon. I can afford carbon, but I’m not convinced the extra cost is worth it for my riding, and I’d probably worry too much about damaging it cos im a bit clumsy with my bikes lol
