[KINEMATICS AND FORCES] . Inclined Plane Question for Force acting on Body along line transverse to line of steepest slope (Ik, i dont understand the wording either)

Q11 A block of mass m rests on rough inclined plane of inclination angle θ (where tan(θ) < μ_s). A horizontal force F is applied to the block parallel to the inclined plane surface (transverse to the line of steepest slope). Derive the minimum magnitude of force F required to initiate motion, specifying directional angle φ of initial slipping relative to the horizontal transverse line

Got this question (word to word) in my school worksheet, i tried to use ai models but they kept thinking for so long i ran into usage limits. I have some idea of how the picture looks, but i am really confused, please help me

Lagrangian Mechanics Prank on my Highschool

Hello ppl, i am a 11th grade student in Highschool, and i have a few exams coming up and i wish to pull a prank on my physics dept. by solving a few mechanics questions using euler-lagrange formalism. For context, i’ll be getting basic Free body diagram questions and Projectile motion and I am from India in CBSE. I need advice on how to pull this prank, how i can learn enough lagrangian mechanics etc. Btw my test is in a week.

So i was doing this problem set from MIT OCW 18.01 (Single Variable Calc)
and P2, part C really perplexed me, cuz what function am i supposed to differentiate? f(x) or g(x) or the equation
I did some calculation that f(x) was equal to (ln 4)/2 😭. attaching both my working and the problem here

I think my main doubt lies whether you could do the cancelling i did on STAR step. and if you can’t do that
i’d like to know why not exactly and how will we solve this problem. THXXXX
