Can't decide between a Macbook Pro and an upgradable windows gaming laptop
- Region
Europe
- Budget
$1000-$2000
- Are you open to refurbs/used options?
Maybe

15-18

Any
- Purpose
- Dev work (web dev, low level, game dev, ai dev)
- Video editing and motion graphics
- Graphic design
- Heavy browsing (10-20 tabs open at once)
- Form factor
Regular laptop
- Intended usage
Normal web dev and low level with VSCode and typical compilers/interpreters.
Game dev: Godot and Unity + testing the games (games are developed for windows)
Creative work: Adobe software (Premiere, AE) - Blender - Figma
- Desired battery life
6-8 hours is ideal
- Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life
- Performance
- UPGRADABILITY (I really need something upgradable so that I won't have to spend another $1k-2k every 3-4 years, this is why I'm afraid of going for a macbook, even though it's excellent for almost all of my use case)
- Battery life
- Aesthetic and noise (preferrably not a laptop that looks extreme or has zigzags everywhere and sounds like a jet engine)
- Weight and size don't matter
- Info/Requirements
[anything else not specified above eg. Intel only, OLED, HDR-compliant, screen resolution/refresh rate, etc. We are likely to talk you away from your desires here (because we know more than you do), but we won't steer you wrong]
- Any screen is fine but preferrably OLED
- >100Hz
- > 1920x1080
- AT LEAST the RAM and Storage should be upgradable, and the battery can be swapped

Considering things like upgradability I don't think a macbook pro is fine, although for every other use case it's perfect honestly.
