All the things and guides i find are 4-5 years old and i read "pre/post nerf" a lot, so i don't know how outdated all that information is.

I like the concept of having an animal companion instead of a thrall, but i read that they don't compare. "Bears are tanky" bears have 500hp and 60ar (2000hp 80ar for elite), while most others have around 300hp 50-60ar (1500/50), so there's a slight increase. Meanwhile there are things like rocknoses with 5k armor that's never talked about (wouldn't those be amazing for raids?)

I'm thinking of something that does poison (though those are limited, and not easy to get in early game), but i don't want to invest time, resources and attach to an animal, if it just gets killed off all the time, because they're bad.

Is it still valid to use them? Which do you use, and what do you use them for?

What build makes you go "yes! This is gonna be good!" When you see it in the intro?

Don't know what to play and a morale boost helps the cause of the emperor. I usually focus on "struggle solver" builds like shield ogryn(push or taunt) or dog-arbiter
