STILL looking for a drummer for alt rock strings group :0
hello! i posted on this sub a month or two ago looking for some musicians to start a band, and now i’m back to say that i have started that band!! we are called “No Strings Attached”. we have a had a few successful rehearsals and are looking to start planning some gigs soon! however, we’re still looking for a drummer. the members we have currently are: 2 violins, viola, cello, bass, acoustic guitar, keys (myself), and a vocalist who also occasionally plays some electric guitar and such while singing. the idea for the group is a string quartet plus a rhythm section, and the genre is alt rock and a bit folksy, plus some jazz here and there, and some indie pop… and some shoegaze… i like a lot of genres, okay?!?
we have five originals currently (all written and arranged by me) and two covers (Never Meant by American Football, and Let Down by Radiohead). feel free to dm and I can send you the midi demos and sheet music for our current repertoire (ideally you’d be able to read sheet music, though it’s not strictly required). we’re looking for someone reasonably competent at drums who can play both jazz and rock styles. i have an e-kit in my apartment where we rehearse (near south loop), we also usually rehearse either Sunday afternoons or Friday evenings. lmk if you have any questions! oh also we’re all around 18-26 so somewhere in that age range would probably be best, although that’s not very strict either.
