I'm honestly still in shock and have no idea what happened. I fed her and Snom 4h ago, she was totally fine. Then suddenly she started cramping, couldn't get up anymore, was crawling across the floor. Called the emergency vet immediately, brought her in, didn't take 20 min in total. But she was already dead.

Vet couldn't tell anymore what it was. She looked healthy and well fed from the outside. But she's still gone. She was only 3 years old. Old man Snom has now outlived 2 Partner piggies, who both only turned 3 years old, while he turns 8 in October.

I don't want to stop having guinea pigs, but I'm not sure who to introduce to my stubborn old man, who he'll hopefully get along with. They loved each other, man.

Heya, I'd love to have an insight from my fellow introverts;

So I'm 29f and I've been an introvert for as long as I can remember. I've always had different phases were my social battery would deplet slower and phases were it would deplet much faster.

Ever since I'm working fulltime it's been really bad. I leave the house at 7.30am and return the earliest at 6pm, it can sometimes stretch to 9pm. I more or less work for the government and my job requires high levels of concentration and lots of vocal coordination with my colleagues and bosses (+ interactions with "customers"). I also live alone so I have pets and housework and grocery shopping to take care of by myself.

So once I'm done, I'm fully done. I used to have the energy to still hop on a call or still play some videogames with a friend, but that time is over. I'm a people pleaser, so I used to push and stretch my boundaries, socialize at a gathering here, meet up at a café there, spend whole weekends out of town. It literally melted my social battery eventually and I was out of any form of social activities for a year. Was also dealing with depression during that time.

I managed to get out of that, but now I'm starting to get into discussions with friends more and more often. I'm taking better care of my energy levels and personal needs since the crash and drastically reduced the time I spend with others. I vocalized and explained my reasons multiple times, but the discussions are stuck in a loop.

I get invited, I accept first and then call it off again because I can't handle it after all. So I switched it up to saying "Maybe" and that I'll decide to join or not when the day comes, do not have to cancel on anyone last minute. This worked out for a while until it didn't. Then I offered that they simply don't invite me anymore and that I rather reach out when I feel like I can handle more socializing today. This also didn't work, cause then my invites weren't frequent enough for them, so sooner or later we were back to square one.

They call my energy levels abnormal and that "others are also able to handle it". They push me to seeing a doctor again for depression, even tho I'm pretty sure this isn't depression, cause I have energy to do things, it simply runs out on my quickly. They suggest I get a different job, even tho I already switched jobs and while this one is demanding, I'm pretty sure any job I take will be demanding for a small social battery like mine.

I'm guessing it's my change in behavior from "I'll join you anywhere" to "I actually can't handle any of it" that's throwing them off, while I'm actually just not forcing myself anymore and being more true to myself and my needs than ever before.

And it's not like I don't want to socialize and spend time with them and I do get that they need connection frequently, but it's literally my whole body rebelling against the thought of having to be mentally and emotionally available for even longer on certain days. I more or less have to choose between their needs and mine on a daily basis.

And I'm just not sure I can meet those needs anymore and I'm unsure what to do about it.

Anyone dealing with something similar and/or has any advice?
