Mystery Flights

Remember mystery flights!?

It was a big thing in the 90's and you'd just hope that you wore the correct clothing for where ever you were going! hahahaha

I won a mystery flight with the company I worked for and it was for two people, so I took my bestie from work. I was in my early 20's and living in country Victoria at the time.

What a journey. Drove her and I to Melbourne, which I had never been there before, navigated the airport car parking, finally found the park and then navigated the airport itself. An adventure. No google maps. No phones. Nothing! hahaha. That's how we rolled back then.

Found out we were going to Adelaide, which wasn't exciting to say the least, considering that's where I originally came from. Was able to change it to Brisbane . Brisbane was meh. Only had one day there and most of it was travelling there, then travelling to and from the airport then travelling back later in the afternoon. So we just walked around the city not really knowing what to do (remember no phones to help us!).

A core memory that will stay with me.

Has anyone here been on one back then? What was your experience?

EDC I love!

Made my EDC passport sized TN and I love it! Been using it for over a couple of months and I do not know how I went without it in the past!

Need to jot something down? ✔️
Need to stash receipts or bits of paper? ✔️
Need to store small items? ✔️
Need to hold credit cards securely (in the canvas pocket)? ✔️
Need a small coin purse? ✔️
Need to have a pen handy? ✔️

If I needed a diary that would be there too, but my life isn’t that busy that it can’t be on my phone calendar.

Honestly, what did we do without these??!!

I made the TN, the pen holder/pocket and the notebook.

So I bought some leather to make journals from AliExpress. It is meant to be a 1.5mm, veg tanned cowhide leather first layer genuine skin.
I know the quality is not the best (to say the least!), I accept that but it is very stiff and shiny!
Is there any way to soften this so it’s more pliable? And can I get rid of the shine?
Reminds me of old lino! 🤣

I am for now on going to source my leather locally but I’d love to use this leather.

I was gifted a pair of boots that are too small for me now and want to sell them but for the life of me can’t find the size!!

It’s a ladies black boot. Bought at the store in Prospect.

What’s that marking in white?
