Any reason why not?

Any reason why not?

Any reason I shouldn’t keep the tank where it would be if I was cooking burgers on this as a grill?

City mouse

Hey there all,
I am setting up my forge and just thought…is there anything I should do/know about smithing in a city? I don’t live in a downtown or in an apartment. It’s a residential area though. I plan to work in an open garage/back yard. Anyone in a similar situation? I have a decent size yard. My two kids and my golden retriever love the size. But I do have two neighbors and what not

Land with no house

So I am interested in buying some land to build a house on it. The land is currently undeveloped. What is the first step in the process? I assume it’s get in contact with the seller.

The first steps

The first step is the hardest

Hello all,

I am just getting started smithing. I have never set up a forge before and bought this one. It’s still in the box and I am chomping at the bit to get it out and start heating some metal(I have some old rail road spikes already). But I am 100% intimidated by the first step after getting it all put together. So my question is this. I just put the last screw in, what now? I hear a lot about coating it with something. Is that the refractory coating? Is there any recommendation for additional stuff I should do before firing it up?Any help would be appreciated.

Basic starter forge.

Hello all. I am looking for some guidance on a good starter forge. I am looking to balance cost with quality for a beginner. I am interested in making hooks and that type of thing to start. Any advice would be awesome.
