My dopamine levels feel finally right.

After a good 3-4 months on Vyvanse, and switching from Concerta (which was no longer serving me well, + had me trapped in negative, anxious spirals…),

… and now writing this even after a week long break from vyvanse due to Vacation, I honestly feel like my dopamine receptors are firing correctly, and I feel almost happy which I haven’t felt in a long time, and I feel like I can enjoy things again like watching a TV series, or looking into lego and trying to build my favorite lego series set.

I want to pursue my interests again and learn a new instrument and create stuff.

Life with the right medication is good.

Anybody else relate?

Got my Father’s WJ111 Tag Heuer Link! Few Questions…

Asked my father for his Tag Heuer Link, circa 2000 - 2002, as he doesn’t wear it since he’s been wearing an apple watch, and this would be a great daily driver for my new job.

It hasn’t been worn in > 10 years, requires a new battery and I need to remove a couple of links but what’s the best way to go about this?

Should I go to an official Tag store and ask them to service it, or is it sufficient to go to a local watch specialist as it’s just a quartz movement?

And the bracelet is quite scratched, so should i ask for this to be polished or do you think I should leave it as is?

I’m excited to inherit this and call this my first Tag 🙂

Shall I increase from 30 to 40?

Coming up to the end of my first month on 30mg Vyvanse, after being on Concerta since Summer of last year.

This first month on lisdex… is much better, and I definitely want to continue. My brain functions better, i have more clarity when I speak, and i’m a little more confident.

It’s not all smooth sailing but better than anything else.

I quit the caffeine, and switched to decaf, but every now and again, when i have a lot at work and no important meetings, then i might treat myself to coffee and those days are generally more productive and my energy lasts longer.

However, on an average day without caffeine, I find myself getting tired and feeling a slight crash between 14:00 and 17:00.

And after 17:00, i’m pretty exhausted and don’t have much energy for anything else.

Should I use this opportunity to ask for 40mg and try that? Anyone experienced something similar and did a higher dose help, or did it bring more problems?

I originally wanted to stay on this dose as long as possible, and avoid overstimulation, but can’t deny that this isn’t really all day energy or focus.

I’m a little divided…

EMDR Therapy + ADHD

I recently read a good book on trauma + PTSD called the body keeps the score.

Although** **I can’t necessarily relate to all the deep stories and examples of ppl that were abused and repressed dark + shocking experiences that they had, I could totally relate to the feelings of unprocessed trauma and masking emotions through years of being undiagnosed and unmedicated and coping with it in my own unhealthy ways.

I have now signed with an EMDR therapist and we’re just doing the preliminary ground work like “identifying my safe space” and going through the coping mechanisms that I can utilize if things become too intense and I need to post process whatever might come up, and then if all goes to plan, I might start with my first session in the next 2-3 weeks.

My question to the adhd community, has anybody had any positive experiences with EMDR therapy, and how does this work while being medicated with stimulants?

I am also fully aware that it might not work, and i might not feel anything, and that’s ok. I just want to try it.

I am hoping to focus on some of my known triggers which I feel kickstarted my anxiety back in my teens, but who knows what else might come up alongside this.

Anybody got any experiences worth sharing?

Is it time to switch to Vyvanse?

Getting my adult adhd diagnosis last Summer was so satisfying as everything made sense.

My therapist started me on Ritalin (Medikinet) but I didn’t like the short shelf life and the heavy crash. It didn’t match my working schedule, so I asked to be put on Concerta.

I’ve been on Concerta ever since (name brand) and currently on 36mg.

The first few months were great because i no longer felt sleepy / tired during the day and being medicated definitely helped me establish some healthier habits and routines which has made my life better.

However, i’m currently not happy with my performance and my meds.

I find myself with scatter brain, analysis paralysis and stuck in to-do-list / planning mode way too often.

I tried switching back to the lower dose (27mg) and tested a couple of days on 27mg, and then back to 36mg, and I still think I prefer 36mg as I’m just way more awake and present.

I am going through new changes at work + new challenges which is causing me to be more anxious and more in my head…

…but then again, my wife has been saying for a while that she’s not sure that the medication is right or the dosage is right, as she is noticing my scattered thoughts and occasional lack of focus.

I’ve also quit coffee + caffeine now, and stick to decaf, so i’m not overstimulated from other things… and I was hoping that it helps me reduce my anxiety a bit… but i’m hating this feeling of just wasting my working day, acting busy and working on stuff but not really doing the things that matter or making the most of my time…

and because I feel like that at work, i take home these thoughts and they play on my mind…

not healthy.

Can anybody else relate, and is it time to switch to Vyvanse and give lisdex… a try?
