Looking forward advice on running a fantasy 30's America.

I'm planning on getting into GURPS because I liked the idea of running a game which takes place in an alternate 1934 San Francisco with magic. I want to run a game with firefights (with mostly period correct guns), some mystery and some encounters with monsters and such. Would GURPS suit this and what should I look at? I am getting into the system and I am looking forward to trying something new!

Halo 3 ODST plothole?

Why does Dutch say he is Oscar Mike when the subtitles clearly state he is called Dutch? Is he stupid?

Would a third sanctification be a good idea in the context in my campaign?

I'm running a campaign soon in a homebrew setting which features a divine civil war as part of the premise. I've opted to use sanctification to represent where gods (and much more importantly characters) are aligned in the conflict. Holy is representing the Ord Clan, the status quo; Unholy is representing the coalition of the Hels and the Light-Bringers, the usurpers. There's a third faction called the Primordials, usurped old gods looking to reclaim their spot. Would a 'middle' sanctification be worth the effort? I'm happy just saying they aren't sanctified at all because they existed before the conflict or something. I think it might be fun to play a Primordial aligned champion or cleric with appropriate theming. I wanted to hear some opinions because I want to get a measure of how much work it would be for a smidge of flavour.

Are there any Githyanki-like creatures in any of the bestiaries?

I'm going to run a planar travel type campaign sometime next month. I have a society of knock off Githyanki because I think they're neat. Are there any pre-existing gith clones in the game rules as is that I can reskin or modify? It's not much effort to make new creatures but if it already exists I might as well save myself the work.

[hated trope] not using children as weapons

Children are a mainstay of media, but I hate when they are NOT used as weapons. Godzilla X Kong might be the first movie in ages which has included children and NOT disappointed me. Like, why didn't the T-800 pick up John Connor kill the T-1000 with his body, is he stupid? Joel could have easily killed way more zombies if he just used Ellie as a bat. Really, it's completely unbelievable that children aren't being used as weapons more often.
