Hello all,

Looking for advice on profile. Really self conscious about my appearance and quite awkward when it comes to photos.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Struggling with loneliness

Hey all,

Looking for some advice.

I have recently gone through quite a sudden and traumatic breakup. I am understandably quite distraught and heartbroken over this, but want to try get my life back on track.

I moved to Edinburgh just under a year ago, however I embarrassingly have to admit I have no friends. I met my ex here and pretty much just put all my energy into her.

I am currently waiting to start work in September which I hope will allow me to be more sociable. Until then, I’ve been feeling like I’m in limbo.

I am a 27 years old male and I am really keen to try do things to get me around more people - and hopefully distract me from the emotional unrest I’ve been going through.

I do eventually want to get myself out there on the dating scene too (once/if I heal) - however I am wary of the apps and the way they’ve made me feel in the past.

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do until I start my job in September? Are there any clubs I can join? Should I consider getting a temporary job in a bar which will force me to be social?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Hey all,

I’ve been struggling with my confidence a lot lately. I’ve always been insecure (with borderline body dysmorphia).

I am particularly self conscious about my teeth, jawline and hairline.

Keen to know if I should be planning a trip to Turkey

ADHD medication Scotland NHS

Hello all,

I received a diagnosis for ADHD today. It’s something I expected, but at the same time feels weird.

My next steps are to choose whether I want to receive medication or not (I have decided I do).

One thing I am quite concerned about is the cost of medication. I do not work a very well-paid job currently and as such I will be eating into my savings to afford medication.

I’ve heard bad things about shared care in Scotland. I thought I would ask if anyone is able to share their success stories when it came to shared care?

Also as a side note - what sort of costs can I expect with private prescriptions in the interim (to my understanding I need to be titrated first before considered for shared care).

For context - I am based in Lothian if that helps.

Many thanks!

No Corporate seat during TC - how difficult is it to move across later?

Hi all,

Looking for some perspective from anyone who has made a similar move.

I’m due to qualify shortly at a large regional firm.

Unfortunately, despite expressing an interest throughout my traineeship, I haven’t managed to secure a seat in Corporate.

My seats have been:
- Employment
- Commercial Real Estate (including some banking/finance exposure)
- Private Client (primarily HNW individuals)
- Commercial Litigation

Corporate has always been the area I’ve been most interested in, but demand for seats at my firm has consistently exceeded availability.

I’m trying to work out how realistic it is to transition into Corporate after qualification without having completed a dedicated corporate seat.

Is this move possible? I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has been through a similar situation.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
