Advice on shifting

I recently completed all 12 lessons and have been practicing driving although not a lot in several manual cars including my own, I’m still very uncomfortable downshifting so I tend to stick to lower speeds to avoid changing gears which will get me a mark on the driving test. I fear it’s too late to switch to auto as I recently purchased a manual car. Did anyone else feel like this in the beginning and still pass their test and or have any advice on how to get more comfortable?

Who’s the best insurance provider?

Does anyone have any advice on how to get cheaper insurance as a learner driver and does anyone know if any insurance providers allow you to use your No Claims Bonus on a car while using it on a different car under a different insurer? Any answers/advice would be appreciated!
