Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a decent, powerful lawnmower. I've been researching different models, but the reviews are quite conflicting. Some are highly rated, while others have complaints about issues that would be dealbreakers for me.

I've about ¼ acre of grass to cut, and I'm looking for something that can handle slightly longer, damp or mildly wet grass without constantly clogging.

Ideally, I'd like:

• Powerful engine capable of handling longer, heavier grass.
• Minimal clogging, particularly around the collection chute.
• Side discharge for longer or damp grass.
• Mulching option for regular maintenance.
• Large grass collector, although preventing clogging is more important than capacity.

My budget is around €300–€400 maximum. I realise this limits my options, particularly compared with the more expensive €1,000+ models.

My biggest priority is something reliable that can cut through heavier, damp grass without constantly blocking up or struggling.

Any recommendations or personal experiences with particular models would be greatly appreciated!

What would people reccommend to keep tools rust free? They are stored in a dry shed but even still getting rust.

Been looking into different oils but im concerned with inner parts of my brushcutter and lawnmower etc.

I feel like there is something basic im overlooking.

Looking for advice from anyone familiar with Irish bungalows built around the mid-1980s.

We have gutters along the front and back of the house, both falling towards the north end. The rainwater downpipes discharge into gullies built into the concrete perimeter path.

What I can't figure out is where those gullies go once the pipework disappears underground. They definitely do not connect to the septic tank, and there's no obvious sign of a soakaway or surface-water manhole.

The perimeter path on that side has sunk/moved somewhat over the years (predating when we moved in a few years ago), so I'm wondering whether the old rainwater drainage could have failed or possibly be discharging into the ground too close to the house.

I'm planning to remove and relay that section of perimeter path eventually and redo the drainage properly, potentially with a new soakaway further from the house.

For a rural bungalow built around 1985, what would the typical setup have been? Would the gullies usually join underground and run to a soakaway, have separate soakaways, or discharge somewhere else?

Also, is there a practical way to trace where the existing underground pipes run without digging everything up?

Would be interested to hear from any builders/groundworkers who've come across similar setups.

I wanted to ask the opinion of anyone that is well accustomed to programming a 303!
I wrote a pattern last year, lost it and been driving myself a bit loopy trying to rewrite it.

Its a 16 step pattern.
It had 13 pitches.
The time sequence is:
Note On, Rest, Note On, Note On,
Rest, Note On, Note On, Note On,
Note On, Note On, Note On, Note On,
Rest, Note On, Note On, Note On

Steps 8, 9 and 10 all have clear individual attacks, but step 9 sounds strongly like it is sliding downward and has a very pronuced squelch. Every slide or tie placement on these steps sounds wrong, and interferes with the attack of the note sequence.

For example, if I tie step 9 to 8, step 10 gets ghosted/lost.
Also if I put a slide on step 9 it lose its pronounciation since its following off step 8 and loses its sustain.

To put the question very simply: What can create a downward slide sound on a step without it losing its attack & sustain?

Hi! I'm just wondering how people would rate the lesiure centre in the Connaught Hotel in Renmore - in particular the sauna. They don't do a day pass to try it out so figured I'd ask here.

I'm currently in Kingfisher but it closes very early on weekends and can also be swamped with classes of kids for swimming lessons. Other than that the sauna is very consistent and decent sized.

Wondering should I make the move or not!
