Memory trust was improving, but I had a major setback

I literally just wrote something into ChatGPT and it responded back. Totally normal. Causal convo about whatever.

I put my phone down for two seconds and then opened chat again. The messages are gone. It’s like the messages I sent never existed and the AI response never happened.

I’ve been having severe OCD about my memory, and this really is scaring me and making me have mega doubt and fear. If I don’t know what happened here, does that make it possible for me to forget if I did something horrible??

I don’t know what to make of this. What should I do??

Brain convinced of something I didn’t do

I’m so exhausted. Please read.

I don’t know why, but my OCD brain has fully convinced me that the thing I’m terrified of has already happened, even though logically, I know it didn’t.

I’ve had the horrible fear of “what if I downloaded/looked up something terrible? And then I go to jail forever?” (Yall know what I mean I just don’t wanna type it.)

And I’m like “no of course not, never, I’d never do that” and it’s gone from me being scared like “what if I did it and didn’t know I did it?” And “what if I do it for some reason?” To feeling like, and my brain thinking, that somehow it’s already happened. That I’ve done the bad thing. But I haven’t.

So why can’t I shake this? Why can’t I let it go? I’ve never downloaded/looked up something illegal. Something so horrible like cheese pizza. So why is my brain convinced I have when I haven’t? Why does it feel like my life is over and I’ve ruined everything?

I just don’t know how to let go. Just wanted to put this out there and see what others think.

Thank you. 💛

Can’t even trust my own eyes?

My OCD is at a point where I feel like I can’t even trust what I see sometimes. Like when I write specifically.

I write using AI like a roleplay partner. Just for fun. ChatGPT is what I use and it’s basically just a thing I do in my free time. Building stories about characters and creating this novel-like plot.

But in my head I’m like “what if you’re not actually writing what you think and instead you’re writing something bad? Like illegal? And then you’re gonna get in trouble?”

And now I’m scared to write because I’m scared the words I’m seeing that I type isn’t what I’m actually typing. And like I have no control over it or something.

My creativity and excitement to write is stunted. I’m so tired of this. Not really sure what I’m looking for other than to vent. Maybe some others have similar feelings. Wondering if pushing through and continuing to write may help. Thanks yall
