Can I play MTG with you?

I’m in my mid-30s getting back into Magic TCG (I know, I know). It’s been over 20 years since I last played and it’s not like riding a bike for me, unfortunately.

I am majorly uninspired by returning to form through the online Arena approach and the local meetups are primarily filled with experienced players on a mission. I still have a bit of knowledge on deck building and have a simple mono Modern-legal 60 card.

If you’re a local player and would like to basically teach me how to walk/read again and get some Modern games together, please DM me. I’ll happily cover coffee, pizza, beer, whatever. Just looking to get back into it with some patient and kind folks who don’t mind taking it slow.

I’d also love to get some advice on my sideboard options from people who can advise on my deck’s weaknesses.

Thanks for reading.

Our shoegaze-inspired film won some awards and features needle drops by Grivo, Sleep Keeper, and Well Hell.

Hey, everyone. We shot this experimental feature-length ghost story in 10 days, across 2 states (CA and AZ), over a 6 month period, and with a crowdfunded micro-budget. It features licensed needle drops from some incredible artists, including Grivo, who I’ve been happy to see pop up on this sub more and more over the years. Like many of my favorite bands, this production was totally DIY. We’ve had the privilege of screening in a bunch of film festivals and even had some limited theatrical through our distributor. It’s available to rent and purchase on Apple/Amazon. If you have some time to check it out and like films like Memoria, Personal Shopper, and A Ghost Story, you may dig it. It’s been a real pleasure to be in other countries watching people using their phones during the credits to look up music they likely would’ve never heard otherwise. Thanks for reading.

Visiting from OC and looking to bird watch first thing in the AM. Where best to go?

Friends:

Visiting Morro Bay for the first time since I’m in SLO for a special event tonight.

I hear Morro Rock is beautiful.

But if I’m only here for one morning and want to wake up early to find birds and the greatest biodiversity, where should I go?

Thanks for the help. I see there are so many options and I’m staying in Los Osos and have a car.

Much appreciated.
