Guy I'm seeing is "friends" with someone he used to talk to

So I'd like to think I'm not naive and I'd like to think I can trust guy because we've been talking for a very very long time and recently started officially dating but we were chilling the other day watching videos on his phone and a Snapchat message popped up well lo and behold it's the girl he used to chat with who is ironically a childhood friend of mine long estranged through time but I didn't press to see the message or blow up or anything just ask what it was about he said he didn't know why she messaged him and is married now and told me I have no competition but this whole situation has my Spidey senses tingling as I've been cheated on before and do not desire a repeat what do you guys think?

Is it ethical to keep an outdoor cat?

I know in most circumstances the answer is immediately no but these are not most circumstances I am young and living at home still I cannot afford my own place because even though I work I cannot afford to I live with an aunt that graciously opened her home to me shortly after a stray cat started appearing so I left food out and eventually formed a bond now the cat will not leave me so I've bought a cat house for it to live outdoors as I am not able to have her indoors house rules. The only other option is taking her to a no kill shelter? I cannot turn her back into a stray so if it's unethical for me to keep her which I suspect it may be, what can I do? Update: I appreciate everyone's responses good and bad I will be saving to give us both a new home and seeing if any of my friends could possibly take her in for me until then. She does not hunt often if at all as I keep her well fed and she has a lazy personality.
