Dropped my last feed… no weaning symptoms?

Baby is 8 months old, my supply took a major hit a few months ago when my baby started Sleeping through and I have had my period + major hair loss since 5 months pp. I’ve gradually dropped all of my feeds over the last 3 weeks and I have experienced zero side effects.

Do the side effects normally show up after the last feed has been dropped or during? I have more energy, feeling happier… the only thing is that I do feel a bit more tired at night (which isn’t a bad thing), and my last period during all of this was about heavier.

Anyone with a similar experience?

Postpartum contact/allergic dermatitis?

Postpartum contact/allergic dermatitis?

I’m 8 months postpartum (still breastfeeding, but starting to wean) & around 5 ish months postpartum when I got my period back I began to develop a red scaly rash around my eyes… it mostly only appears when I wear makeup, so I’ve assumed that it’s something I’m allergic to in my makeup (which is weird because I had been using this makeup during pregnancy and postpartum until my cycle came back).

It seems to me that I’ve obviously developed allergies to something and it’s related to my hormones - my dermatologist agrees. I’ve replaced all of my makeup with the same stuff just in case it was too old and it hasn’t helped. As of this week I noticed the dermatitis returning to my eyes and a small patch on my neck even though I hadn’t used my makeup.

Has anyone else experienced this? Did it ever improve?? I’m wondering if when my hormones go back to normal (if they ever do) after I wean maybe I’ll see some improvement.

Vtama prescribed to 6 month old?

Today my sons allergist prescribed vtama for his very severe eczema we’ve been treating with steroids. So far everyone has told us that only steroids are approved for little ones under a year and I see that vtama is only fda approved for 2+. However, they insisted it’s perfectly safe and fine for babies 2 months and older.

Has anyone had a similar experience? The FDA literally says this drug is not approved for a child as young as my son. I’m new to this and wondering how this can be that they would go against fda guidance to prescribe?

Just last week my baby had his best night of sleep EVER in his life. We have not formally sleep trained, but my husband and I have been following a plan we were comfortable with that seemed to work: if baby wakes before midnight my husband goes to soothe him cribside - no picking up. We did this because if I go in there my baby will not settle (he is EBF). For the most part our baby would be back asleep within 20 minutes and would stay down for a few more hours. After midnight I handle any wakings and feed him. Usually only once!

Two days after his best night of sleep with only one brief waking between 8p-7a, it’s like I have a newborn again. We have tried to stick to the plan (husband going for any wakings before midnight) but he screams and screams until I go in to feed him. We have even tried just going to straight CIO, thinking maybe it’s time for sleep training. What happens is he will cry for 15-20 minutes, then fall asleep for 3-5 minutes and then wake up and cry again for 15-20 minutes. He did this last night for almost 2 hours. Even if my husband goes in to provide full comfort (rocking to sleep, etc.) he screams through it. It’s been about a week of this. Eventually I go in to feed him and within a minute or two of latching he’s back asleep and will even let me put him back in his crib where he sleeps for another 2 ish hours before this madness starts up again.

I literally cannot think of a reason for this. Especially considering how well things were going only a week ago? I did notice that our son was waking in the middle of his naps and after his 1 MOTN feed he would hang out in his crib awake for 30-40 minutes before falling back asleep. We also have been extending wake windows to the point that bed time was getting crazy late. So, I decided to drop to two naps. He has actually been doing great with two naps and longer wake windows, but night time sleep remains the same.

Help???

His wake windows with two naps (2.5 hours total) have been 3.25/3.5/3.5 - he did so great with this. His schedule with 3 naps had the same amount of awake time and also 2.5 hours of naps. No crying at bedtime and put himself to sleep in the crib. Today I’m trying to add in an extra 30 mins of awake time to see if that will help.

ETA: I feed him twice every wake window and # of feeds has not changed (also not concerned about hunger bc he doesn’t eat much if at all when he latches and goes back to sleep). I don’t believe he’s teething. There’s just no visible sign of that but I do plan on giving him a bit of Tylenol tonight to see if that helps.

My 6 month old was not consistently fighting his last nap (30 mins) but we were extending wake windows as he wanted to stay awake longer to the point that bed time was getting to be extremely late in the day. Like nearly 9. We’ve also been having a huge increase in night wakings as of the last couple of weeks. From 1-2 on a normal night to now 5-6. I’ve also noticed the last couple of weeks that after I get up to feed him in the middle of the night sometimes he will hang out awake in his crib for up to 45 minutes. I’ve been tracking his night sleep and he’s honestly only getting like 8-9 hours of sleep per night lately despite being in the crib for 11. Previously he would do 10-11. I did also notice him waking up in the middle of naps on occasion. So, we decided to have a go at 2 naps today.

Today we tried 3/3.25/3.25, but he’s been crying so much and for so long in his crib since I put him down it’s going to end up being 3/3.25/4. His wake windows before this were 2.5/2.75/2.75/2.75-3

Should I just move him to 3/3.5/3.5? That’s way too soon, right??
