Do you do anything to mitigate the smell during harvest?

I've never harvested before but I know it's pungent and unavoidable on some level but I'd really prefer if you could not smell it from down the street.

I'm kinda tempted to get some kind of tent that I can trim in with negative pressure because I'm a little paranoid. I do have enough room to do that temporarily. Though it might be about the same price to just get a whole house intake.

I do already have an air purifier with a carbon layer and I'll get another.

My neighbors won't really care about it and they like me so there is that.

I'm still a good few months from my first harvest so I am just anticipating and trying to prevent this ahead of time.

I know it's mostly not a big deal as long as I keep to myself and am not telling everyone and selling but it's still a pretty loud indicator.

Just last night I basically had to call the cops because there was an older man seemingly having a dementia episode in my yard at 5 am.

Watering volumes and EC uncertainty in first grow.

I'm growing for the first time, using coco and perlite 70/30, canna A & B for nutrients and cal-mag, they are in 3.9 gallon autopots, but the system is not on yet.

My plants are about 20 days old and seem to be doing quite well, at least they don't seem unhappy and the growth seems rapid.

However I've just begun checking run-off EC and I've noticed it is Extremely high. At about 4200.

My input EC is around 1300.

As I understand it, it should be within 300 or so. So something is wrong.

Am I watering too little and infrequently? I had been doing 500 ML twice a day. Which seemed like enough because the media didn't seem dry and the plants seemed happy.

To correct this, because of the extreme discrepancy the suggestion appears to be to flush approximately 12-16 gallons of low EC feed water through each pot? Is this true? I'd really rather not do that and I'm tempted to just let it ride or start over.

First time grower! My permanent marker is thriving.

I am still dialing things in but so far so good.

I'm running coco coir and perlite 70/30 and canna nutrients in an autopot, but it isn't turned on yet.

I started these in a seed germination tray in pure coco, which they didn't love, probably because I kept it too wet. Then transplanted to solo cups.

They really loved the solo cups, the one I thought was gonna die and transplanted first has exceeded all the rest.

Now they are in their final 4 gallon autopots. Just being hand fed until the system is ready to be turned on.

I still need to get a water chiller, another AC and a few odds and ends but everything is going well.
