The artist paints an incredibly bleak, autobiographical portrait of the life of a working lounge singer in the late 70's midwest of America. It's a rare and moving insight into life in the trenches of this long-lost musical world.
The ethereal, atmospheric flip-side of the single from Las Vegas' very own "Psychic Rock Singer". Belita Adair is such a fascinating character. She channelled a new song from Elvis shortly after his death (when she was 15 and performing in an ice show in Vegas). She went on to become a Satanist and make very heavy and intense Black Metal in the years after this record. Someone should make a documentary about her!
One look at this Florida band and their awesome logo, and you know you're in for a treat. They do not disappoint! Here, they turn in a stellar take on the Lou Rawls dance floor classic, sprinkling it with their own Scorpio magic. The whole record is great, and they were clearly a cut above many lounge bands of that time.
Exquisite, progressive, soft rock from Hawaii. Momi Riley is a Big Island harpist and singer. There is a wonderful, enchanting, purity to her voice that, combined with her harp playing, brings an ethereal and magical quality to this whole fantastic record.
