So, how will potential new DLC bosses work if we're already fully "built" by the end of Act 3?

I mean like, I have full Spool, all masks, every Crest, tool, journal entry, etc. Will the bosses be extra hard to compensate, like with an Act 3-style "buff" to them (i.e void-possessed Savage Beastfly vs normal Savage Beastfly)?

I know HK had the pantheons, and they had harder versions of bosses that could handle the Knight's upgraded moveset, but Silksong is a bit different in the fact that Hornet has a lot more movement and combat options than the Knight does, and the fact that, well, we have tools that can literally extend our health (Plasmium Phial) and give us alternate ways to shred bosses.

What are your predictions on how the last two chapters are going to go?

I know it's probably not going to happen, but I'd love to see either Chapter 6 or 7 start during The Roaring. Like, it's happened throughout the night and we are waking up to it. It could give a lot of exploration and character potential with finding Susie and Ralsei, doing battle with The Knight, etc. Again, this is probably not going to happen and is quite farfetched for a Deltarune chapter, but I can dream, can't I? I do believe we'll get to see The Roaring happen at one point, though, probably in Chapter 7.

Anyway, I wanna know y'all's predictions. Who knows? Maybe they'll come to fruition.

Question about White Lily's connection to Silent Salt

If you've played this game for more than five minutes, you would know that with all the other Beasts, their Soul Jams are the direct opposite of their Ancient counterpart. It's essentially shown that:

  • Destruction is the opposite of Abundance
  • Apathy is the opposite of Resolution
  • Deceit is the opposite of Truth
  • Sloth is the opposite of Passion

but there's always been one outlier: White Lily and Silent Salt.

This pairing has always been weird to me because, correct me if I'm wrong, Solidarity is NOT the opposite of Freedom. The opposite of Freedom is containment/captivity. In a sense, Freedom and Solidarity are the same thing.

Even without the Soul Jam connections, the two just...haven't interacted in the way the other Beasts have with their Ancient counterparts (or "other halves" as Eternal Sugar calls them).

Think about it. Not only are their Soul Jams opposites, but the Beasts also act like the physical antithesis to the Ancients as well, but Silent Salt just...doesn't. He and White Lily have basically the same worldviews and goals. They both want to assist those who can't, they both do not like working alone, and they both are associated with salvation.

It's always bugged me, because, like, they had something going there, but why have Silent Salt as the outlier? Is it because he's different from the other Beasts, or because he was the last Emissary to fall or what? I need answers.

Please respond KINDLY to this post. I don't want comments about media illiteracy or saying I didn't watch or understand the story, because I did, and I wouldn't be asking this if I didn't have at least SOME understanding of the events in the story.

Very hot take here: I kinda hate how every cookie calls each other like "_______ Cookie" instead of just their names.

I get it's to differentiate and maybe make identifying them better, and even that is a stretch, but to me, at least, it makes the dialogue feel awkward. It's like if I went around calling all my friends and family by their first and last names instead of just their first name.

But yet, we know they CAN, or that Devsisters knows how awkward it sounds, because White Lily regularly calls Elder Faerie Cookie "Elder Faerie" and it sounds so much better.

The only one that sounds semi-normal to say in everyday conversation is Dark Enchantress Cookie, because that to me feels more like a title instead of a name.

Gingerbrave isn't "Gingerbrave Cookie", so what is with this? I'm genuinely curious as to if this is some sort of design choice or just Devsis being a Korean company.

I know this might not be a big deal to some people, and I did sort of tune it out after a while, but it's still something I wanted to talk about.

I want to hear your thoughts.

Hot take: Saltbaker is a better final boss than The Devil

I like The Devil's fight a lot, I really do, but as the final boss of the game, it doesn't really feel like a final boss, mainly because it doesn't have that "final battle" feeling that most, well, final bosses do.

This might be different for some people, but I really like the fast-paced, precise, almost chaotic gameplay of "A Dish To Die For" over the slow, sluggish gameplay of "One Hell of a Time".

Again, this is my opinion, as I personally like final bosses to test the player on everything they've learned up until that point, and as far as I know, Saltbaker does just that, including using attacks designed exclusively for Ms. Chalice (which I normally main as her moveset feels better to play with than Cuphead or Mugman's).

I know, the DLC and the main game were made by a slightly different team of people, and that the DLC is meant to be an extension - and a harder one at that - of the main game, but Saltbaker just...resonated with me more, I guess. He's way more fun to fight, and one of my favourite bosses in the game to S-rank (you can tell, judging by my user flair).

It's not that I dislike the Devil's fight - far from it, actually. I just find it more of a chore than Saltbaker. I don't feel like replaying it as often as I do with the latter, possibly because of the aforementioned slow gameplay and unexpected drop in difficulty for what's supposed to be the final boss of the game (I beat him on my first try, whereas Saltbaker took me an hour and a half to beat).

I want to know what others think, and if people share the same opinion I do.
