Free AI Plus vs $7/month Pro deal
Hey everyone, looking for some advice:
My free 1-year Google AI Pro student promo expires November 8th. Sadly, the new student offer in Canada is only AI Plus, while the Pro student offer is only available to returning students in the US. I was offered a way to keep Pro for around $7 CAD a month, though, which is about 74% off.
I don't really care about the 2TB storage or Workspace stuff. I mainly use Gemini and Antigravity for part-time dev work at a startup, university, learning new things, and personal projects.
I use it pretty much only for coding, especially with bigger projects and repos. Looking at my usage since May, I average around 28M tokens a day on days I'm actually using it, so I'm wondering whether Plus would be enough, or if I'd notice the downgrade pretty quickly, especially with longer Antigravity coding sessions.
I also know Argon is coming eventually and will be locked behind the higher tiers. Is Argon actually worth keeping Pro for, or is that not really a big enough reason? Is $7 CAD for Pro a no-brainer, and would I regret switching to Plus if I hit limitations?
For anyone who has used Plus heavily for coding, how has it been? Does it hold up with larger projects and longer coding sessions, or do you run into issues pretty quickly?
Basically, would you take the $7 CAD Pro offer or just go with Plus and save the money?
