Four months ago I posted my incremental auto-battler Flag Conquest here. It's now on Android in closed beta, and I need testers!

Good afternoon! I'm a solo dev, and I have been building an incremental strategy auto-battler for more than half a year now. I posted here four months ago and got some awesome feedback and some dedicated players. Since then I have been working to make the game as good as it can be, and I am excited to say it is finally playable on Android!

With that said... I need your help getting it through the final mile for mobile. I've started a closed beta with all the improvements, and fret not, it's coming to Steam November 3rd, but I want any and all your brutally honest feedback before I get it there.

How to join on Android:

  1. Join the group (it will say no access, just hit Join!): https://groups.google.com/g/flagconquest-beta
  2. Opt in and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.flagconquest.app

Desktop players, you are not left behind!!! The game is still free in your browser at itch.io and your save travels with you if you want to play on both devices: a cloud PIN lets you carry one save between desktop and phone, with a automatic cloud system coming soon.

Wherever you play, type BETA under Settings -> Account for a starter pack: potions, gems, a stack of vouchers, and the Midnight Crimson interface theme (black and crimson, it's my favourite one).

Just remember, the game is meant to be a slow, incremental auto-battler where you build up over weeks to get further and further. Don't expect a cake walk, the enemies bite back...

Thank you for all the support so far. Every bit of feedback makes the game better, and I read all of it, truly!

AI Disclosure: The soundtrack is AI generated with human modifications. Art, text, localizations, and store assets were made with AI assistance and human modifications. Nothing is generated at runtime, and the game never connects to an AI service.

AI use & decision-making survey, students, ~15 min (18-25)

Hi all, I'm helping recruit for an IRB approved psychology study at Ottawa University looking at how people use AI systems (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.), what motivates that use, and how trust, reliance, and decision-making relate to it.

~15 minutes, fully anonymous, no identifying info collected, completely voluntary.

Thanks if you take part, happy to return the favor on others' studies here.

Built an unmanned 24/7 AI radio station with Claude as the director

So, I saw someone else create a radio station, and I thought I would give it a shot myself. It's been a perilous 2 week journey but I finally achieved automation. Claude writes all the show structures, creates agents to generate the music, local TTS, multiple personas and they digest news, debate amongst each other, choose which songs to play and read and reply to comments and requests for music!

Some things I learned as I was going;

  1. Claude as a scheduler and director is actually pretty good, but you need gentle guiding guardrails and the plan it makes for the day is always interesting.
  2. Claude has an inherent bias to picking the same songs... There was one that was played 16 times in a day despite having a catalogue of 300 to pick from.
  3. The hardest part is the audio pipeline, I still haven't figured out how to make a seamless transition from show to show (if anyone has ideas do tell, I use FFmpeg to stich audio together)
  4. Claude likes metaphors, I have 12 different songs with 'Kettle' in the title, It also overrides any guardrails to not play a specific set of songs that were just played... (Still figuring that out too)

Live now if anyone wants to listen: driftfm.live

I think I will let it run for a few months... who knows, it was a very fun process. We started with TTS screeching demons to back and forth debates on grad level subjects and it manages itself, top down, kind of wild.

However, rest in piece claude -p for subscription users, im going to have to adapt.
