Flash extension heads for locations; Yea or Nay?

So, I have a set of AD200 extension heads sitting in my cart & I’m having second thoughts. I think I know the pros and cons of them, but in practice- have they ever saved your flash? Markuspix on youtube mentioned that weighting down the base of your light stands has always worked for him, so is he an exception? Please let me know your experiences…

Anyone find the AD200Pro II modelling light useful?

When the AD200ProII came out every youtube video mentioned the new, better modeling lights, but I’ve never seen a video of any photographer using them, hence my question, especially on the bare bulb head; is there specific situations where they’re handy to use, or are they just a big head?

Hammock Camping at Pog Lake June 1-5

My Pog Lake Hammock camping setup last week. After a pretty serious windstorm the previous Friday ( a tree branch went though a buddies camping trailer window! they weren’t inside but they saw it) the comfort stations were out of operation for most of my stay and there was a boiled water advisory. The first couple days the nighttime temps were in the low single digits, only warming up on Thurs. The bugs were out in full force, & I paid in blood. I generally camp in the shoulder seasons. this was my first experience with them at that level.

I’ve been motorcycle/hammock camping in the park for about nine years (on the same bike). This year the hammock was an Amok Draumr with a Eureka NoBugZone 13 screen room.

I was really enjoying James’ experiences with siphon coffee makers. Especially since I have the Hario 5 cup and Yama 8 cup ones. But it’s been six months since the last video, and although I loved his Americano video, I rather not pick a Gaggia, etc before I learn what I’ve been doing wrong with my siphons for the past 15-20 years!

We’re doing an 21 day Antarctic trip next Jan. I’m a shutterbug, so I’m bringing a pair of cameras, a couple wide angle to medium zooms with a polarizer filter for them, but I’m on the fence about buying a 72mm polarizer ($) for my 200-800mm equivalent wildlife lens. Any opinions from experienced hands? Will it be useful?
