Big pallet of them right at the entrance. Where has this stock been this entire time? I would never expect it to show up here after so many years. Why didn’t Spreetail sell it on their ebay site?
Ha. So let me explain. I went to buy it at Meijer yesterday and the self checkout lane said invalid UPC. Was told to go to customer service for help buying it. They ran into the same issue until it was determined the item wasn’t meant to be sold at that store and needed to be impounded. This all took like a half hour to figure out. I was given a $25 Meijer gift card for my troubles.
Yeah you can see where this is going. :)
So I went to ANOTHER Meijer store in the area, found Astrotrain again, and promptly ran into the same issue. However this is a half hour before the store closed and they just want me out of there with the item no matter what. So this guy grabbed a red bull 12 pack and scanned it at my checkout for $23.99. He asked if I have any problem with that price, and I said no. Another lady was trying to get someone on the phone to figure out what to do and whoever she called didn’t know what to do either. So that was that. I was able to buy it for $25.67 after tax. Take the $25 gift card and it basically became a $0.67 toy.
So the only question we’re all left with is… $23.99 for a pack of Red Bull? Geez inflation is getting bad. :)
