My gold card 2nd anniversary is coming up in October, I’d like to upgrade to the platinum card before that.

My average spend since I have the gold card is +£2,000 per month, which isn’t super high but I believe not too low either, however I haven’t received any upgrade offer from Amex yet. I saw on another thread there used to be an upgrade link but it seems it doesn’t exist anymore.

My question is; do I have a chance of getting an offer by asking them directly on a call or live chat? I think I won’t upgrade if I don’t get one.

Note: I have received a good retention offer in April. Before that I wasn’t aware that retention offers were a thing, I discovered it on this sub so I asked for one in April. Could that be why I am not receiving an upgrade offer?

I’m asking here because I’m finding conflicting info about this.

I already hold a gold card and just referred my partner for the free BA card. She added me as an additional cardholder, my initial thought was my spending on the BA card counts towards her welcome bonus.

However I found some people saying that the additional cardholder also gets a welcome bonus? I guess in my case no because I already have my own card? Does only her card spend count for her welcome bonus or also mine? Thanks for your input!

With the changes to Deliveroo Plus gold subscription (£7.99/mo -> £4.99/mo, no more Deliveroo credit, no more time promise benefit), the Amex Deliveroo offer isn’t as interesting as it used to be. No more Amex credit on the monthly subscription and less benefits overall.

If you’re a Deliveroo plus gold subscriber, a good workaround would be to switch to Plus silver, (free if you have Amazon prime), to still enjoy no delivery fees and 2 Amex credits on orders monthly.
