"I should move the lawn at 8am to beat the heat"
Didn't feel like a big brain move later. Holy hell is it oppressive out there, even with constant water breaks. Stay inside.

Finally received the dreaded 'your CableCards are about to die' e-mail from Verizon, so it's time to execute Plan B. My original plan was to go DTV Stream - already have two Gemini boxes for that, too. However, I wanted to at least consider TV+ once more. I know I read about issues and quality in the past, so I'm hoping to hear from others if any of that is changed? And if they'd actually recommend TV+.
Started with 26 REC 405AA’s but had a rough 2025 with consumption increasing and production decreasing (along with adding two 10C’s), so we decided to add a few more panels. Had two more 405AA’s installed in the original array on our main roof, and five 460AA’s installed on our garage roof, all on IQ8X micros. This production is far higher than any previous day and certainly more than I expected.
Side note: These 460AA’s are *massive*. Didn’t expect them to be so much larger than the 405s.
In the app, my system configuration shows the correct new amount of panels, but the Array tab still shows only the old ones. The system status shows all good, but I also see an error stating that there is an issue with the gateway meter measurements.
I am in Server 2025 hell and have stumbled across yet another oddball issue that I'm wracking my brain over. VDA 2507 CU1, WEM and CPM in play (folder acceleration/mirroring for Teams).
If I reboot a VDA and then launch a Citrix desktop, my startup apps fail to launch. Nothing in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run or HKCU or even shortcuts in the local Startup folder of my profile's Start menu will launch.
However, if I login to that VDA - RDP, local session, or Citrix Desktop, every single login after that works fine. Startup apps launch 100% of the time until the server is rebooted.
If I disable CPM, startup apps all launch fine. We are not doing anything crazy with our config, and it works fine in Stage. What obvious thing am I missing here?
Heard a loud pop in the middle of the night and the sky lit up blue, yet nothing changed inside the house. Fan was still running, I could see the LED on my TiVo, etc. Take a quick peek at Enlighten and confirm that we’re off grid power. It didn’t last very long, but I cannot express how much I love how seamless this process is. Has I not heard that pop, I’d never have known that we lost grid power. Now to figure out if anyone has created an Edge extension in SmartThings for Enphase so that I can setup some automation.
We're an App Layering shop, and our images will not boot (fail to get an IP to pull an image) with any OS layer that has the April or later update installed in it. These are UEFI VMs in VMware, but do not have Secure Boot enabled.
Update: I think we've got this resolved. After much digging, I found that the VMware template used for our App Layering connectors was on hardware compatibility ESXi 8.0 U2+, but the VMware template used for our provisioned VDAs was on ESXi 7.0 U2+; somebody used the wrong template when building the entire environment. After recreating the VMware template for App Layering using the lower hardware compatibility, I added an OS layer version and installed the May patches and finalized the layer. Everything now boots properly. I can't explain why this issue started happening now, but it appears to be resolved in our environment. You know, until MS breaks something else.
Been a while since I did a deep clean on my Athena. Also got a chance to really inspect everything, and I still can’t tell that this gun has thousands of rounds on it.
