Moved some things around, sold some stuff, picked up some stuff. Still have a few more on the “to get” list.

To answer some common questions:
the 2K11s, one is 9mm one is .45ACP
same with the two Alpha Foxtrot Romulus, one 9mm one .45

So I recently got a staccato c4x and after about 500 rds it keeps getting jammed. The jamms come out looking like this. Any suggestions ?

Firstly, thanks to everyone who had an opinion, thoughts and such to share when I first posted about what 2011 tier should I buy into.

So a lot has happened since I first posted. I shot a bunch of guns I could get my hands on and try out. Eventually,I landed on and purchased an Atlas Artemis v3 and then while I waited for it I went ahead and purchased an Alpha Foxtrot Romulus to tinker with and learn on. Since then I have also purchased an Atlas Titan v2 (the Osight is temporary while I wait for my SRO) and an Atlas Perfect Zero 4.6 Build kit (not pictured.

General notes on buying (my observations and opinions):

1. Atlas is the best production gun manufacturer and it’s not even close.

1.1 Atlas Alpha grip is the best grip I’ve encountered.

1. The v3 grips are much more pleasant in my hands than v2.
2. The Romulus is a fantastic platform to learn on and tinker with (and no painful “uh-oh” lessons learned on the Atlases). While being a better starting point than the Prodigy.
3. Shooting the Artemis is amazing, I started laughing after I shot the first mag. It’s just phenomenal.
4. Fitting and installing a thumb safety is annoying, ridiculous and generally a pain in the ass a tedious and patient process.
5. This can be a VERY expensive hobby, very quickly.
6. This community has been pretty awesome and I really appreciate it and you all.

Notes, Upgrades to the Romulus (for those curious):

1. Comp correction was done in my garage, fairly easy and well worth it.
2. Double tap thumb safety was fitted and installed, not a fan of the big logo but it was the only shielded safety I could get.
3. Flat firing pin stop from EGW was fitted and installed.
4. Miller grip safety delete was installed and is damn near a perfect fit.

It’s Range Day. Before these custom builds ever get their final finish and coating, they have to earn it on the firing line.

This is the live-fire testing phase for our latest batch of 2011 builds. Doing this before final finishing and coating ensures that tolerances are mechanically perfect, the cycling is completely smooth, and it functions as it should. We shoot, tune, and push every pistol with hundreds of rounds of various brands of ammo before it gets stripped down for final aesthetics.

I picked this up a few months ago, put maybe 5-7k rounds through it now. It is now my main gun for competition. I gotta say the fit and finish on this thing feels right up there with the highest dollar double stacks. it shoots great and I def want another one. I know some people are weary about dropping this much money on a smaller boutique shop , if you get a chance to try one I bet it will change your mind.

My first 2011 got a 507 comp on there and I did the stippling questions is cheely, atlas, or infinity for the grip?

After a few hours on the range today I stapled up this B8 and walked back to 25 yards. This pistol is spectacular. (And I wouldn't worry about that little guy down there in the 8 ring).

Deep River Customs Limited Optics 2011. 9mm, 5", finished in Black DLC and Bronze. Every component is fitted, refined, and tuned by hand.

Did some horse trading the few weeks, trading some lower tier pieces for a few higher tier. Finished the XC build [for now] grabbed a Fowler Vanta 9 Gen 1 that was sent in and updated. Gave up my MPA DS9 Hybrid for it. So I traded back into a DS9 Hybrid TC with aggressive steel frame. And received my Kimber 2K11 back from Billet Armory from having them do a V-6 porting job.

I have a Artemis v3 and recently got a hold of the atlas grip modules for my Staccato XC and MPA Loc V2. The V3 grip module slightly different and nicer. The undercut under trigger guard is slightly more comfortable and they smoothed out some potential hot spots.i may have to do some sanding and smoothing myself.

I have two holsters from Bitterroot now, and I couldn’t be happier. Caleb does phenomenal work. Worth the money and wait. IMO
I have one for my P4X and the other for the Heritage P or Viper.
1911/2011 leather holsters that look good and carry well.

On the docket for this weekend was the battle of a couple of my non-ported pistols. I threw a mishmash of pistols to see how they would compare shooting 124gr Mag tech.

1. Fowler Industries Vanta 9
2. TTI Combat Master
3. Dan Wesson DMX
4. Nighthawk Customs single stack T3

Results: I feel I need to disclose right off the bat, that two of the pistols have optics (Fowler and DMX) and two are non-optic(Combat Master and Nighthawk). I also need to disclose that my skills with iron sites is rusty at best. That said, today the Fowler ruled the roost. Right off the bat, the groups I was getting out of the Fowler were consistently better than every other pistol. Not too far behind, was the combat master, once I brushed off some of that rust with irons, I was getting really good groups out of the combat master as well and it was shooting as nice as the Fowler. The DMX shot well, but to be honest I was struggling a little bit with it today. But as I started putting more rounds through it, it started performing much better for me so I'll give it a solid third place. My Nighthawk T3, was my first 9mm 2011 and is easily about 15 years old. So it might be a little bit unfair to match it up against modern-day weapons that are tuned much better than they were a decade and a half ago. Still a nice shooter, but it just can't keep up. So for the purposes of today's range day, four guns entered the ring, the Fowler walked out victorious, bloodied by the combat master but winning nonetheless.

Since some of you may ask, yes, it’s a Sig 365 XL in the background, I was testing a new BOE suppressor. I’m working on a hush puppy type build for that XL.
