Anyone sells a grip with this contour? Any word if JG will eventually sell grips?

I held one in Store and absolutely loved it. Feels a lot like the grip angle I have on my DWX. Anyone knows a company selling a grip with a similar shape? Or have you heard of Jacob Gray plans to sell grips alone? I’m working on a build and researching grips right now.

Grip judgement please critique

Please give any criticism and don’t hold back. Grip used to be way way worse and I think I’m in a spot where I like the way the guns sit in my hands. Taken a few videos over the last few months with a variety of weird techniques until I settled on a proper and established grip style from watching a bunch of well regarded YouTube videos.

Wearing gloves since I’ve really torn up the skin around the right thumb knuckle and it’s finally starting to heal from the sharp edge of the beaver tail, I don’t wanna sand the edge down and fuck up the coating.

Trying to shoot the gun aggressively and erratically to try to reveal any deviation of muzzle rise and gaps in my grip, I think it’s pretty alright as the guns remained relatively flat. Towards the end I loosened the gun too much out of my dominant shooting hand, and reoriented my grip, elbow’s a bit fried (probably tendinitis) from either shooting every day last week, my current gym routine, or a combo of both.

I’m using a staccato xc with a 507 comp and that new harbor freight light you guys were raving about and a staccato xl with an x300, blacksteel usa gas pedal/extended slide release and no optic as I’m waiting for the release of the 507 pro max.

Please don’t hold back and let me know if any changes are needed, I’d like to finalize any tweaks before I really let this grip into my muscle memory. Next I plan to train occluded when the pro max is installed eventually.

New Pickup! Fresh out of Lockup

Super excited to add this to the rotation. I have a Ported Island Barrel as well. RMR HD just mounted and headed tomorrow to run it.

Stacatto HD4.5 and Jager werks BRO?

Does anyone know if the Jagerwerks BRO is compatible with the Stacatto HD 4.5 optic plates? If so, can you share pics of your setup? Also, which length of screws did you use?

I purchased an SRO and just want a little peace of mind.

Thank you for your time and feedback.

First 2011

Wanting to switch this to my full time conceal carry. Gotta put allot of reps in first before I'm up to the same level with it as my g19.

The amount of fitting this took....

Put on the Prodigy magwell, fit and finish is superb after a little Dremel work, definitely easy to do but the amount of time it took to go slow and make it look proper was well worth it. Going to clean it up this morning and give the whole thing a thorough cleaning to make sure no shavings got left behind, plus I haven't cleaned it since the last range visit so now seems like a great time.

FYI... smacking it on does get it on but in my case it squeezed the bottom of the grip and did not allow easy access for the mags to slide in and out.

Nox 9 and Hex

After a long search, I stumbled on an opportunity to get a slightly used JG Nox 9 last week. Because they were so hard to find in the wild, I had to take a couple of things on a leap of faith (and YouTube reviews).

First, the grip. I knew it looked appealing, but I wondered if the grip's feel would gel with my preferences. Some people are trigger snobs; I am more particular about the grip ergonomics. Pleased to report that this on of the better feeling grips I have put my hands on. That rear groove under the safety makes the grip feel like it is fit specifically for my hands. It actually feels better than the Hex grip to me (totally subjective) and the Hex grip was one of my favorite things about the firearm. Also, the X patterns are aggressive, but not Cheely like in texture.

The original owner outfitted the handgun with an RMR HD. I never used this optic before (I am a Holosun guy because I prefer green dots as opposed to red). Suffice it to say I am impressed with its function as well. I don't know if I would want to pay $700+ for one, especially for a range toy, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Overall, my first experience with a hybrid comped and ported gun was very positive. This is just a fun gun to shoot. Objectively, it does not perform quite as well as the Atlas line, but to me, it has been just as fun to shoot (*in a competition setting, I am still opting for Athena/Apollo/EOS). I was just in an indoor range so far, so I am looking forward to testing it out this weekend at longer distances at my outdoor range.

I did have a couple of malfunctions my first time out (I think it was because I may have over lubed the gun and it became a bit gummy after a couple of hundred rounds). I did clean it, and took it out a second time. No problems other than one stovepipe. It is possible that I have a tendency to absorb the recoil because both the Nox 9 and Hex are so comfortable to shoot that I let up on my postive control of the guns. Of course, that is not optimal, as I do not have that problem as consistently (if at all) with any of my other 2011s. But when I keep it clean and maintain a firm grip on the gun, both of these shoot lights out and fast enough for me (full disclosure: I get my jollies more from accuracy than speed).

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

By no means an expert, just a C class enthusiast...

Same but different "Artemis vs Athena" post...

So I found someone selling a gently used Artemis with SRO for approximately $800 more than a new Athena V3. I'm highly considering it. I have a single hangup about it, and it's based on my experience with my Staccato HD 4.5. Obviously two completely different classes of pistol from every metric.

The hangup is that for the life of me I have never been able to get a proper handle on the HD 4.5. I shoot it like crap (for me). I can park rounds on top of rounds with the HD 4. The only real differentiator is the sight block, and I'm just wondering if that is coming into play and is the reason I fail to shoot it to my personal standards. I'm deeply interested in the Artemis, but am wondering if I'm gonna run into the same issues. Or will is be far better balanced and I'll be mad I got a the Athena instead?

Any opinions from Atlas owners would be appreciated.

Kimber 2k11 pro / pro comp vs Sig Sauer P211 GTO / GT5

Hey all, I had had a Springfield Armory Prodigy for the last year and a half, and my buddy who was looking to get into a 2011 bought it off me today because I am in search of an upgrade in my 2011 world. The two (or four) that I am debating between currently are the Kimber 2k11 pro comp (or pro) and the Sig Sauer P211 GTO (or GT5). I would like input from people on their first person interactions with each gun, specifically the fit and finish, and fun factor. I am personally leaning towards the 211 but the kimber is just about neck and neck with it. I know there are posts like this everyday, but I appreciate the advice in advance!

Slight Problem

Ok, little stumped because I have had very very very few and minor problems with all my firearms. I just got my Staccato CS back from V6 porting and lightening cuts to the slide. While it was out, I thought it would be cool to put a Dawson Precision magwell on and some base plates on the mags, but I only did one to see if I liked it. Today was the first shots and the first fours mags ran great no issues. Then all of a sudden I started having failures with each mag, like 2 or 3 per mag. While shooting, the gun wouldn't fire and the hammer was forward. I had to manually cock the hammer and then it would run for about 4 rounds and do the same thing again. This happened on each of my 4 mags and I ran each mag twice, so I had 20/25 failures in 8 mags.

I'm sure someone on here knows what this is. I've never had a failure with this CS ever until now. Oh, I was running 115g ammo, I ran out a batch of 500 rounds of bulk ammo that I've never had an issue with previously.

Eleven71 Atlas optic plate

Eleven71 just dropped titanium optic plates for atlas optic cuts. better fitting and looking than the stock plates and they have an estimated lead time vs atlas is always out of stock. Hoping it fixes/mitigates the notorious 507 comp elevation adjustment issue.

Cheesas / Teely..

Anyone else done this?

Planning on this being a USPSA LO gun on a budget.

But hoping to kick some butt with it.

Only issues are front grip bushing hole needs a tiny filing and the hammer is stopping the side going back with the cheely grip safety.

Planning on taking the tip of the hammer off, rather than the back of the spur..

Any feedback from anyone that has done this?

I figure the tisas hammer was going to be way cheaper than messing with the Cheely.

Thoughts?
