After my gun cabinet post, and all the questions I received (thanks everyone!), I mentioned a few times I don’t care the Dan Wesson DWX compact anymore because of the ports I had put in. But after thinking about and someone suggesting I just order a new barrel (I called, none in stock but I’m on a waiting list now. Thanks for the suggestion), I decided to”fuck it” and have been carrying the DWXc again, and man, do I love this thing.

My ONLY major gripe is capacity. 15+ is decent but when guns like the XMacro can get 17+1 for the same size, that’s annoying.

Someone did comment that folks in the DWX subreddit had mentioned swapping internals of the DWXc mags with XMacro mags and you’ll get 17+1, but I look for a while and couldn’t find anything on that in the subreddit or anywhere else in the internet ether. If anyone knows about that and can drop a link, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking for an AIWB holster for the ShaloTek flex 365XXL. This is the fuse length model. I tried to use my Xmacro poster, but the trigger guard doesn’t quite catch the retention point. I know they sell one on their website, but based on what it looks like it doesn’t look like the holsters I usually prefer. Does anyone out there know of any other holster companies that make something that works for this?

I do not have the thumb ledge so I don’t need something to accommodate that.

I picked up the fusion XP pro compensated, and ported on Wednesday. Got it out to the range this evening, and I cannot say I was super stoked.

First, the RMR plate out of the box was bent, and I could not use any of my RMR optics. Oddly enough, however, the second plate in the box was listed as DPP/RMSc. I’ve never seen that combination before, but I did have a Holoson SCS 320 optic there DDP footprint, and that worked fine.

Another point of note, I used the Mec-Gar 20 round extended Glock mags I have for my G17. I had only used them once before today, and had no issues.

I used a combination of CCI blazer brass, Winchester white box, Midwest, and there was one more that I am not remembering.

I put 200 rounds through the XP Pro, and had 20 failure to extracts. I had two per magazine in the first two or three mags. Then a buddy of mine went through a mag, and he had five. I got through a couple of magazines unscathed. But was averaging two failure to extracts per magazine.

Needless to say, I am pretty disappointed. I know this is considered a “budget“ option, but out of all of the guns I own I have never had any malfunctions and have never seen anything like this in all of my YouTube/social media consumption. I am hoping that I can chalk this up to a break-in period, but we will find out when I head back to the other range I go to tomorrow which allows for rapid fire and holster draws.

I’m not sure if it was a combination of the ammo and magazines, but this gun just did not want to run.

I also had with me the DWX, the P211 GTO, and the Platypus. None of those guns experienced any issues at all. So I can’t chalk it up to specifically an ammo issue.

For anyone out there who knows the details, when searching for a compensated Romulus, I often come across several different variants. From what I can tell, one is an MOS cut that comes with both RMR and RMSc plates. One version is native RMSc slide milled. And there is usually maybe one or two other variants that I can’t necessarily discern the differences. I would really like to pick one of these up, but I want to make sure I get the one that’s right for me. Thanks in advance for the help.
