Moved some things around, sold some stuff, picked up some stuff. Still have a few more on the “to get” list.
To answer some common questions:
the 2K11s, one is 9mm one is .45ACP
same with the two Alpha Foxtrot Romulus, one 9mm one .45
You can see in the attached video there is some red banding above and below the dot as I move around. Depending on lighting and target situation it’s pretty distracting. Is this something that I can fix? Something that is a warranty issue? Or is this more of a deal with it? I have over 20 other optics and have never seen anything like this before.
Picked up this Romulus 4.5” comp, through the Bones Defense pro shop. Matt was awesome to work with. He kept me up-to-date on the whole process and got through it pretty quickly. He swapped out all of the internals for EGW internals, put on the Atlas shielded safeties, I don’t remember the trigger he put in, but also did a trigger job that out of the box is sitting at sub 3 pounds. Also, pinned the grip safety. I am going to send off my Romulus .45 ACP comp to him to have all of the same stuff done.
Saw it. Grabbed it. Shooting it on Saturday.
While shooting yesterday and getting a bunch of failure to feeds after the first magazine, I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I didn’t have the right tools to get the slide stop out so I packed up and bailed. I just now took it apart, and yep, that’s a round stuck in the barrel.
1: how do I get it out?
2: do I even get it out, or do I take it to a gunsmith or send it in to Sig?
3: is the rifling going to be all messed up now?

Was at the range yesterday and started getting failures to feed. The rounds were stuck 1/4-1/3 out from the chamber. I didn’t have the tools on me to get the slide stop out so I had to wait until I was home and finally just pulled it apart. Yep, that’s a round stuck in the barrel. Luckily it’s close enough to the end that another round couldn’t fully chamber, had I fired a second round through this, that would have been really bad.
How do i get it out? Should I send it in? Or should i take it to a gun smith? Is the rifling going to be fucked up now? Thank in advance, I’ve never dealt with this before.
These are the videos from the first two mags. First is the 10# spring second is the 13# spring. After some comments on the previous post, it does look like the brass is hitting the optic, but you can see in both of these videos there are casings not even making out of the ejection port.
Someone mentioned the issue isn’t fixed with a lighter spring, the spring weight should be tuned to the ammo. This was all blazer 124gr. I’m just getting my feet wet with this, so I’m tuning ammo to springs is still a work in progress, but dude said it should work with any spring weight. Others say with it being comped and ported it required a lighter spring. Not sure what to make of it, with opposing opinions.
Anyone out there willing to share some insight or resources that I can learn more from, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, lots of folks in here really helping a brother out.
I posted from my other account accidentally the other day, but it was the post about the fusion XP pro comp/ported still having FTE issues even after putting in a new extractor. Several of the comments mentioned messing with the springs which I had not had time to do. Today, before heading to the range, I swapped out the stock spring, I don’t know what the weight is, to the 10 pound spring they sent me in the spring kit. That spring had 17 FTE in a 20 round of magazine. I then swapped out the 10 pound spring for the 13 pound spring that came in the kit, and that had just as many FTE. I then went the opposite direction and put in the lightest spring they sent me, 7 pounds. That seemed to be the solve. The gun did have two failure to go into battery issues, but that seemed to work itself out after three 20 round magazines. So, we will see. I will say, even though this gun was a single shotgun for most of the day. It is extremely accurate. We will see how long it continues to cycle rounds normally.
After my gun cabinet post, and all the questions I received (thanks everyone!), I mentioned a few times I don’t care the Dan Wesson DWX compact anymore because of the ports I had put in. But after thinking about and someone suggesting I just order a new barrel (I called, none in stock but I’m on a waiting list now. Thanks for the suggestion), I decided to”fuck it” and have been carrying the DWXc again, and man, do I love this thing.
My ONLY major gripe is capacity. 15+ is decent but when guns like the XMacro can get 17+1 for the same size, that’s annoying.
Someone did comment that folks in the DWX subreddit had mentioned swapping internals of the DWXc mags with XMacro mags and you’ll get 17+1, but I look for a while and couldn’t find anything on that in the subreddit or anywhere else in the internet ether. If anyone knows about that and can drop a link, I would greatly appreciate it.
Looking for an AIWB holster for the ShaloTek flex 365XXL. This is the fuse length model. I tried to use my Xmacro poster, but the trigger guard doesn’t quite catch the retention point. I know they sell one on their website, but based on what it looks like it doesn’t look like the holsters I usually prefer. Does anyone out there know of any other holster companies that make something that works for this?
I do not have the thumb ledge so I don’t need something to accommodate that.
I picked up the fusion XP pro compensated, and ported on Wednesday. Got it out to the range this evening, and I cannot say I was super stoked.
First, the RMR plate out of the box was bent, and I could not use any of my RMR optics. Oddly enough, however, the second plate in the box was listed as DPP/RMSc. I’ve never seen that combination before, but I did have a Holoson SCS 320 optic there DDP footprint, and that worked fine.
Another point of note, I used the Mec-Gar 20 round extended Glock mags I have for my G17. I had only used them once before today, and had no issues.
I used a combination of CCI blazer brass, Winchester white box, Midwest, and there was one more that I am not remembering.
I put 200 rounds through the XP Pro, and had 20 failure to extracts. I had two per magazine in the first two or three mags. Then a buddy of mine went through a mag, and he had five. I got through a couple of magazines unscathed. But was averaging two failure to extracts per magazine.
Needless to say, I am pretty disappointed. I know this is considered a “budget“ option, but out of all of the guns I own I have never had any malfunctions and have never seen anything like this in all of my YouTube/social media consumption. I am hoping that I can chalk this up to a break-in period, but we will find out when I head back to the other range I go to tomorrow which allows for rapid fire and holster draws.
I’m not sure if it was a combination of the ammo and magazines, but this gun just did not want to run.
I also had with me the DWX, the P211 GTO, and the Platypus. None of those guns experienced any issues at all. So I can’t chalk it up to specifically an ammo issue.

For anyone out there who knows the details, when searching for a compensated Romulus, I often come across several different variants. From what I can tell, one is an MOS cut that comes with both RMR and RMSc plates. One version is native RMSc slide milled. And there is usually maybe one or two other variants that I can’t necessarily discern the differences. I would really like to pick one of these up, but I want to make sure I get the one that’s right for me. Thanks in advance for the help.
