Desert Eagle or FK BRNO
Looking to buy myself an impractical but cool Ph.D graduation gift. I already have a FN 5.7 (Which was my impractical masters graduation present) The two pistols I'm trying to decide between are the 50 desert eagle and the FK BRNO 7.5. Looking for any advise or opinions on the two.
Best bear defense for trail runner
Normally I run/hike (Alaska) with bear spray but this year I’ve seen way more bears than usual and have heard some cases where s&r have recovered people with empty bear spray canisters next to them.
What’s the lightest and most reliable option long distance trail runners can take on big days in the backcountry for a bear defense(blacks and grizzly’s)?
What gun?
I have about $600 to spend on a handgun. Looking to get a 9mm. I would like something that’s concealable, good for home defense, and reliable. Obviously, accuracy and comfort of the gun are important, so I would test any gun I would consider, but want to get others opinions on what they like

Best red dot and compensator for shadow system mr920L elite
I just bought this pistol not to long ago and I want to start using it as my daily carry, looking into red dots and possibly a compensator, are there any red dots specifically that you have found to pair well with your concealed carry? Thanks for your help!
I am doing all of my big game hunting this year with a high point 10mm
She is just long enough barrel wise to be legal in all 3 states i hunt . I paid $180. i plan on putting several times that amount in accessories .
I plan on using a .45 can on it (it’s what i have ) . I am currently looking for a long eye relief scope that wont lose zero riding on the slide (any recommendations in that regard would be appreciated) barring that perhaps i will see if i can find one of those scope mounts that pin to the side of the gun missing the slide entirely! I plan on making a kydex chest rig .
This year in addition to lots of whitetail. Elk , Black bear over hounds perhaps a pig or two , my buddy has a property over run with goats and opportunity predators are always on the menu
This was a decision i made today please feel free to call me an idiot or encourage me or whatever i plan on giving updates as to how the build is going and field reports with photos!
Why can’t I keep it tight?
I’ve zeroed the 407C on my g19 in twice now only for it to come loose after a range session.
This is my first optic so I don’t know squat. I used the tool sent with the optic and tightened it enough that I was scared to go tighter.
This particular wiggle job had a full quarter turn before it was tight again. I used blue loctite, but I do not have a torque wrench. Is that my problem? Just bear down harder when tightening? Wrong screws or something?
Thank you
Comps?
So last year I lost a bet with a friend. He made me get a comp for my RXM. So now I have a new barrel and a comp on here. I use to think that comp was a gimmick. That they was there to just look cool. But after shooting this one. I can say that they work as advertised. I didn't think I'd like this as much as I do. What do you a think? Do you prefer your guns with or without a compensator?
Taurus G3C
edits were typos:
hey yall,
quick question to people who know way more than I do. I’ve handled forearms a fair amount throughout my life, shooting everything from airsoft guns to shotguns and the occasional hunting rifle. I did scope myself with a 30.06 back in high school haha. Anyway, I’m looking at purchasing my own handgun, and I have a Taurus G3C for $180. comes with a hip holster and 2 magazines. so everything I’ve looked at says the only big issue is watching g out for Slide bite. it’s coming from a pawn shop, but I’m interested in purchasing it. really, I just want to know if it’s worth it or not. I have done a bit of research, seems like a fairly decent handgun. just looking for some advice on if it might be a good purchase. my hands aren’t huge so I’m not super worried about the slide bite, but it is something I’ll be monitoring if I purchase it and when I get to the range with it.
If you could only pick 2.
If you could only pick 2 handguns of your collection or just handguns in general, what would you pick?
These are mine.
Staccato HD 4.5 and the humble Glock 19.
want to get a new handgun possible EDC
So I'm debating between a glock 19 or a sig p320 or some other sig I'm leaning twords glock and getting a cut slide for it so I can put a red dot.
Any recommendations? My price point is nothing over 500
New P365 Fuse owner — help me separate P320 controversy from P365 reality
Hey everyone!
Looking for honest feedback from actual P365 owners, especially Fuse owners. I recently purchased a P365 Fuse after handling multiple options. I came from owning a Glock 19X previously and wanted something slimmer, modern, balanced, and easier to carry. The Fuse immediately felt right in hand and checked a lot of boxes for me.
That said, someone I trust and respect heavily background from the Special Forces, Defense Tech community and around firearms/training culture for years immediately told me: “Stay away from SIG handguns.”
His concerns seem tied heavily to SIG’s reputation and the P320 controversy/history.
My understanding is the P365 platform is mechanically different, but before I fully settle in with this as an EDC/home defense setup, I wanted input from people actually running these guns.
Questions:
Reliability concerns?
Any issues specific to the Fuse?
Would you trust it for EDC?
Anything you wish you knew before buying?
Any known patterns showing up over time?
Not looking for Glock vs SIG debates. I already bought it because it felt great in hand and fit what I was looking for. Just trying to pressure test my decision and educate myself.
Appreciate any insight.
