Affinity Squier or MiM as base for upgrades?

Affinity Squier or MiM as base for upgrades?

Hi everyone, I am really looking to play a classic Strat style guitar, but am kinda on a budget. I dug up my old 2007, made in China, Squier Affinity series Strat and it got me thinking. Would this be a good base for upgrading? Or should I instead find a used MiM Strat and work off that (with a slightly more limited upgrade budget)? Appreciate any opinions on this!

In case it helps, I’ve included a photo of what the guitar looks like (found online, but the same model). Only has like one ding and the pick guard is faded. Has a maple neck.

Rebuild Plan

Since its apparently now cool to just pay people “under the table” outside the cap, here’s my plan for the kings rebuild. We offer Steph curry, Giannis, and jokic max one year deals next season and in addition offer them the entire annual budget for visit California (they don’t need to do any ads cause what better attraction is there than a super team) and 1% of the k-12 school budget (kids love basketball). I think with a lineup of acuff, curry, Keegan, Giannis, and Jokic we will have successfully completed the rebuild. Thoughts?

SOTB

Any ideas on what to go for next? Wah? Equalizer? Something else?

Guitar is a prs vela and the amp is a vox av-15. At some point want a fender deluxe reverb reissue, but that may be a dream for a bit
